McDonald's Is Almost Sold Out of These Two New Items
And the McDonald's craze continues. After announcing a few weeks ago that they are running out of ingredients for the Quarter Pounder due to the mega successful collaboration with rapper Travis Scott, the burger chain is now facing shortages of ingredients for their two newly added menu items: the spicy chicken nuggets and Chips Ahoy! McFlurries. The Spicy Chicken McNuggets with Mighty Hot Sauce and the new flavor of the iconic McFlurry were launched in mid-September and immediately caused an ordering frenzy. Only two weeks later, the chain has said they are facing a shortage of all three. McDonald's said their location across the country will run out of these items in about a week, which shocked fans. While temporary menu additions usually last while supplies last, it's almost certain the chain didn't expect to sell out of these within a few short weeks. But think of this as a successful test run for the spicy nuggets and the cookie-flavored shake, which means they are likely to make another appearance on the menu in the future (and maybe even a permanent one).In fact, McDonald's has hinted as much. Noting they are thrilled with the positive response, the restaurant teased a future return of the sold-out items. "If our customers truly can't get enough, there's always a chance we'll bring limited-time menu items back in the future," they said in a statement to Business Insider. "You never know, you might just see some of these fan-favorites again soon."Social media has seen an uproar over these shortages, with the customers particularly heartbroken about the Mighty Hot Sauce. "@McDonalds we've been looking for mighty hot sauce all over the city .. not even one mcdonalds seems to have it! You should have enough mighty hot sauce for every spicy chicken nuggets order!!" one Twitter user complained, while another suggested the sauce should have a life of its own on grocery shelves, "@McDonalds should bottle up the Mighty Hot Sauce and sell it."Apparently, the Mighty Hot is the hottest dipping sauce McDonald's has ever offered, and will likely become one of their iconic fan-favorites for years to come.Don't forget to sign up for our newsletter to get the latest restaurant news delivered straight to your inbox.
