The Big Bang Theory fans call out major continuity error in Christmas special episode as Penny and Sheldon swap gifts
THE Big Bang Theory fans have called out a major continuity error in a Christmas special episode as Penny and Sheldon swap gifts.
In season two’s The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) worries his gift-giving abilities won’t be able to compete with Penny’s (Kaley Cuoco).
Sheldon, Howard (Simon Helberg) and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) ended up going over the top, buying her a mammoth supply of bath goodies.
In return, Penny gets Sheldon a signed napkin from his hero, Star Trek’s Leonard Nimoy.
This leads to an uncharacteristic hug from Sheldon, but as he cuddles up to Penny, viewers noticed a continuity error.
Writing on a forum, one viewer said: “When Sheldon emerges with all of the bath item gift baskets for Penny, he drops them on the floor and chair.
“Between shots one of the baskets on the chair changes from being an upright green-ribboned basket, to a toppled-over white-ribboned basket.”
It isn’t the first mistake or plot hole that has been noticed by viewers as they rewatch the series, which came to an end last May after 12 seasons.
One Big Bang Theory fan glued to episode The Wiggly Finger Catalyst, featured in season five, has called out actor Jim’s character trip for leaving his toilet trip to chance.
He heads to the infamous Cheesecake Factory with the rest of his science-mad pals and armed with a pair of dice, which are set to determine his acts for the day.
He believes leaving everything to chance, with a roll of the dice, will help free up important mental space for key decision making.
This even includes whether he will make a trip to the toilet at the eatery, yet a fan on Reddit mused why he even contemplated using a public loo at all.

They wrote on a Big Bang Theory forum: “I don’t know if this has been posted before, but this mistake is about the phrase ‘Don’t defecate where you eat’.
“Somewhere around the Change Constant, Sheldon reveals that he always took the phrase literally and has never used the toilet in any restaurant.
“However, in the episode where Sheldon uses the dice to determine his decision (gold digger Emily episode), Sheldon rolled the dice when he wanted to go to the toilet IN the Cheesecake Factory.
“This shows that Sheldon has used the restroom in the Cheesecake Factory before. So saying that he took it literally was a mistake.”
