Mom of boy, 5, ‘shot dead by neighbor for cycling in his yard’ wants killer ‘to burn in hell’
The anguished mother of a five year-old boy shot dead after he reportedly rode his bike into a neighbor’s yard says she wants the killer to ‘burn in hell.’
Bonny Waddell insisted alleged murder Darius Sessoms, 25, did not kill her son Cameron Hinnant just for pedaling into the yard in Wilson, North Carolina on Sunday, but did not say what she believed Sessom’s alleged motive to be.
Writing on Facebook, Waddell said: ‘THIS WAS NOT JUST BECAUSE MY BABY WAS RIDING A BIKE!!
‘DONT LET THIS SOCIAL MEDIA AND NEWS FOOL YOU!
‘We will get our justice and I’m taking every damn body down right with him!
‘CANNON BABY MOMMY IS GONNA FIGHT ????????????????
‘Don’t ask questions and don’t make a post when you don’t know any facts. This is under investigation, I lost my child, I lost my innocent child, and no one can give me him back.
‘I will burn this country down if it’s what it’ll take to see this man burn in hell. I’m ready to flip this county upside down.’
Waddell later shared a screengrab of Sessoms’ Facebook profile with the caption ‘YOU SORRY SICK SON OF A BITCH.’
And she shared the impact of Cannon’s murder on his seven and eight year-old sisters, who saw him getting shot.
Waddell wrote: ‘IM REACHING OUT, please everyone take a minute out of your night and pray really really hard for my girls ????
‘PLEASE, IM BEGGING! THEY JUST LOST A PUZZLE PIECE, THEIR BESTFRIEND, A PIECE OF THEIR HEART, AND THEY KNOW THEIR MOMMY IS NOT OKAY EITHER…’
Sessoms – who lived next door to Cannon’s dad Austin – reportedly fled the scene after the murder, and was arrested later the same evening.
He made a brief court appearance Tuesday, and was ordered held in jail until his next court appearance on August 25.
Austin Hinnant is said to have eaten dinner with his son’s alleged murderer the night before the shooting took place.
A GoFundMe page set up to raise cash for the youngster’s funeral shared an unconfirmed motive for the ‘senseless’ killing, saying: ‘A beautiful 5 year old baby boy riding his bicycle was shot by his neighbor point blank in Wilson NC.
‘One minute he is enjoying his life, the next it all ends because he rode into his neighbors yard.’
Cannon’s second cousin Rachel Pipkin says she was stunned by Sessom’s alleged crime.
She told CBS: ‘We used to play together and I never thought he’d kill someone. A mother now has to lay her son to rest at 5-years-old which she should never have to do. He’ll never be forgotten.’
