Report Trapez Regatta Steinhude 27/28 of June 2020
Dear FD-sailors!
Visiting Steinhude Lake is always nice especially when you can finally see
FD-activity on the water again after a long stop caused by Covid-19.
It was great to look at the a fleet of 40 FD’s enjoying their boats and racing
again!
On Saturday under a sunny sky and good temperature 3 races could be sailed
under very variable winds (1 to 3 Bft). Big changes in wind in both strength and
direction did not make it easy for the sailors.
GER 199 Dirk Bogumil / Sven Hermenau started very strong with a 1-1-2 followed
by DEN 21 Jørgen Bojsen-Møller / Kai Schäfers with a 2-2-7. Not far behind
GER 30 Alex Antrecht /Christian Kujan with 5-5-1.
On Sunday the day started under a grey sky and more wind (up to Bft 4). Due to the
precautions for the Covid-19 there was no big beer-party on saturday evening.
So most of the competitors were full of adrenalin causing several general recalls.
So the black flag went up and four boats got a BFD – penalty: GER 199 GER17
GER 213 and DEN 21. So this made the last race even more exciting.
GER 113 Kilian König / Johannes Brack scored a 1and 1 and GER 30 2 and 3 the
second day.
In total:
GER 199 winning the regatta GER 113 second GER 30 third and DEN21 fourth.
We saw a lot of happy faces and very good atmosphere as usual. Let’s hope for
many more events this year!!
Regards
Peter van Koppen
