Luxury real estate brothers sentenced to 30 years in prison for yearslong sex-trafficking scheme
Three brothers convicted of using wealth, luxury travel and exclusive properties to lure women into a yearslong sex-trafficking scheme were sentenced Tuesday to 30 years in prison.
U.S. District Judge Valerie E. Caproni handed down the sentences for Tal Alexander, 40, and his brothers, twins Oren and Alon Alexander, 39, in federal court in New York.
The sentences cap a stunning downfall for the brothers, particularly Tal and Oren, who rose to prominence as luxury real estate brokers handling multimillion-dollar properties and catering to wealthy clients.

A federal jury convicted all three brothers in March of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, inducement to travel to engage in unlawful sexual activity and multiple counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.
Prosecutors had asked Caproni to sentence each brother to life in prison, while their attorneys sought the 15-year minimum.

Eleven accusers addressed the court before the sentences were handed down, describing how the assaults continued to affect their lives years later, The Associated Press reported.
"It took one night, only a few hours, one invitation to completely wreck the girl I once was," one woman, who used a pseudonym, told the court, the AP reported.
Prosecutors alleged in a court filing that the brothers raped or sexually assaulted at least 70 women, describing them as "serial rapists."

During their four-week trial, 11 women testified against the brothers, including several who said they were minors at the time of the encounters.
The women described receiving gifts and being flown to parties and other destinations, where they said they were given drugs before being assaulted.
In his closing argument, prosecutor Andrew Jones told jurors the brothers cultivated the image of wealthy party boys while preying on women.
"They used a consistent playbook to lure, isolate and rape their victims," Jones said. "They did it with callousness and a perverse sense of pride."
Throughout the trial, the brothers denied the sex-crime allegations. Their attorneys argued the encounters were consensual and accused prosecutors of overreach.

The three brothers addressed the court before they were sentenced and continued to deny drugging or raping women, the AP reported.
"I am not here to discount what they have said," Oren Alexander said of the accusers who addressed the court.
He expressed regret for some of his past behavior toward women but insisted that he and his brothers had not committed the crimes for which they were convicted.
"My brothers and I have never drugged or raped anyone. We never trafficked anyone for sex and we never conspired to hurt anyone," Oren said.
Lindsey Acree, who testified that Tal Alexander and another man raped her at a Hamptons home in 2011 after she drank something that left her feeling paralyzed, questioned why the brothers had inflicted such harm on women.
"The biggest thing is why? Why did you do this?" Acree told the court, the AP reported. "I don't understand the cruelty. I don't understand the hatred towards women."
Long before their arrests, Oren and Tal Alexander had become major players in luxury real estate.
The pair rose through the ranks at Douglas Elliman, where they brokered major deals, including the nearly $240 million sale of a penthouse in 2019 that was then the most expensive residential sale in U.S. history. They later co-founded the luxury real estate firm Official in 2022.

Court filings previously obtained by Fox News Digital alleged the brothers used "the promise of luxury experiences, travel, and accommodations" to lure women to locations where they were then sexually assaulted.
Their alleged sexual violence stretched back more than two decades, beginning when the brothers were in high school in Miami, prosecutors said.

After the jury returned its verdict in March, U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton described their conduct as "calculated, brutal sexual abuse that, unimaginably, the defendants celebrated."
All three brothers were arrested in 2024 and had remained in custody without bail through Tuesday's sentencing.
