Paulina Porizkova's gym routine led to ‘a revelation’ in her sixties

Paulina Porizkova is enjoying the benefits of exercising after starting to work out.

In a recent Instagram post, the 61-year-old supermodel shared her gym routine with her many followers, and shared working out has helped her in more ways than one.

"I really used to hate to work out. And so I didn’t do it until I was in my 40s, and I realized that it really helped with my pretty severe anxiety," she said in a voice-over footage of her lifting weights. "And also it made me look better."

She explained that while she still doesn't like working out and would "much rather be reclining on the couch and reading novels," that would help "feed my brain, but it doesn’t really do it for my body," so she chooses to go to the gym.

The supermodel shared that she tries to go to the gym three days a week, alternating between focusing on her upper body and her lower body, and leaves one day to work both out.

She explained that she's taken the advice of doctors and Instagram influencers and tries "to lift heavy," adding that she also mixes Pilates into her routine.

In the video, Porizkova can be seen doing exercises such as hammer curls, cable pulls, deadlifts, pull-ups, lunges and others.

"What's wonderful about it is, it not only helps my severe anxiety and makes me look better, but it also has made me a lot stronger," she added. "So, despite my 10 pound weight gain, I can dance the night away with people half my age. How about that?"

She then shared video of herself dancing with a group of people, writing in the caption that she was at a wedding for her son's friend, boasting that although they were younger than her, "we still pretty much out-danced them all."

In her caption she assured fans she and her husband are working with a trainer who "taught us HOW to lift properly so we don't injure ourselves."

"To feel like we’re in the best shape of our lives in our sixties is a revelation," she wrote. "This is after my bilateral hip replacement that kept me in severe pain for years, after my menopausal weight gain, after Jeff’s knee trouble, and including arthritis in both of our shoulders … and yet, We have never felt more at home and at ease in our bodies."

Fans in the comments section sent messages of support to the former "America's Next Top Model" judge, with one telling her, "You are an inspiration."
