Jennifer Lopez stuns in patterned swimsuit while soaking up final days of summer

Jennifer Lopez celebrated Labor Day with sunshine and a standout swimsuit look.

The 57-year-old singer and actress marked the holiday by sharing a series of sun-soaked photos Monday, including a head-to-toe mirror selfie in an intricately patterned one-piece swimsuit.

Lopez opened the Instagram carousel with a full-length mirror shot that showed off the entire look. The one-piece featured an elaborate mix of gold, black and muted green detailing, with jeweled embellishments running down the front and a thin belt at the waist.

She layered a coordinating lightweight cover-up over the swimsuit and accessorized with gold bracelets and rings. Her long brunette hair was worn sleek and straight as she held up her phone for the photo.

"Happy Labor Day everybody ☀️????," Lopez captioned the post.

The next image brought the camera much closer.

Lopez reclined outdoors for a selfie that highlighted the detailed neckline of the same swimsuit. Her brunette hair fell loosely around her shoulders as sunlight filtered through the trees, casting shadows across her face and upper body.

The Labor Day post capped off a summer of major milestones for Lopez, both personally and professionally.

In May, the "On the Floor" singer opened up about preparing for a major change at home as her 18-year-old twins, Max and Emme, prepared to leave for college.

During an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," Lopez said she wanted her children to embrace their independence, even as she struggled with the emotions of watching them grow up.

"I want them to be happy and go where they want to go and do what they want to do," Lopez said.

She recalled initially feeling optimistic when people warned her that sending her children off to college would be difficult.

"I remember being that age and thinking I couldn't wait to get out in the world and do my thing," Lopez said.

"I want them to go out there. I want them to do what they want to do. They have big dreams. They have things they want to do. It's going to be great."

However, Lopez admitted the reality of the milestone began to hit her as graduation approached.

When she was asked to write messages for her children's yearbooks, Lopez said she became emotional.

"Oh my god. When I tell you the tears, I — two days it took me to write those things," she said.

Lopez later gave an even more direct answer when Andy Cohen asked during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live" what had most recently made her cry.

"My kids going to college," she replied.

The superstar is entering a new chapter in her personal life as well.

During her May appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," Lopez confirmed she was single. When the studio audience erupted in cheers, she joked, "I should have done it sooner."

Kimmel asked whether she would consider becoming ABC's next "Bachelorette," but Lopez quickly dismissed the idea.

"I'm not doing anything to ruin how I feel right now," she said. "No, it's fantastic."

Still, Lopez, who has long described herself as a romantic, hasn't closed the door on finding love again.

During her appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," Cohen asked Lopez whether she believed her next great love was ahead of her.

"My greatest love is ahead of me 100%. Without a doubt," Lopez said.

She also described romance as an intrinsic part of who she is.

"I'm very romantic," Lopez told Cohen. "I think it's like my personality is like romance."

"I romanticize everything," she added.

The personal changes have unfolded alongside a busy year professionally for Lopez.
