Giants QB's girlfriend takes NFL preseason fashion to next level, 9U football kid unloads & Horvat kids' clubs

The sun is shining, the sky is bright blue, Mrs. Screencaps' flowers exploded overnight and it's a great morning to dump out a fresh edition of Thursday Screencaps where we will dive into a variety of topics, including the fart corner, a safe space where kids can let it rip without leaving class, according to a TV report.

Yes, a fart corner. The teacher at an Atlanta elementary school is calling it the "gas station." She even has a sticker on the wall where you're supposed to fart that says "gusty winds area." I'm serious. Here she is explaining the fart corner. She even has Febreze for the kids to spray after letting one loose.

Have we officially gone too far with the safe spaces with the invention of a fart corner? You make the call.

Guys, I warned you I cannot get enough from Ayers. She's a content queen who gives us material like this where she goes over her outfit where she's wearing Giants colors to a preseason game in Miami. Dart wasn't even playing. That's how dedicated Ayers is to the content, the Giants and becoming a star. She could've worn a pair of jogging shorts, some random top and called it a day.

JAXSON DART'S SWIMSUIT MODEL GIRLFRIEND GETS PATRIOTIC, GOLFER HAILEY OSTROM TAKES ON LAKE POWELL & BIGFOOT

Nope. She's married to the game and that's great news for Screencaps.

TAYLOR HEINICKE RETIRES FROM THE NFL WITH A FAREWELL SALUTE TO THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS

With a 7 1/2 game O/U win total and the 17th hardest schedule based on 2025 winning percentages, it's not out of the question for Dart and Ayers to put together a possible nine-win season and possible playoff talk. Based on the latest NFL playoff trends, roughly six to seven new teams make the playoffs each season who didn't make it the past season.

We need Ayers to make a run.

– Jon in Iowa says: I quit their store quite a few years ago when they decided not to sell ammunition any more. It was definitely a "woke" decision on their part and that was that for me. Will not surprise me when they go belly up.We are lucky in my town to have a Scheels store. Greatest sporting goods store ever. Very large stores with everything sports related, always lots of help and not meth heads. I think you mentioned them a while back in Screencaps. Great American success story.

– Ryan in FoCo emails: Dicks sucks. As an outdoorsmen I hate them, they made a big stink about not selling guns and ammunition several years ago, but then they didn't stop there and actively supported and lobbied for more gun laws. They also stopped selling all hunting and fishing gear. Their whole business started on the backs of outdoorsmen and the like. I won't darken the doors and forbid my wife and kids too (though they don't stick to it as religiously like I do).

The problem is here in Colorado there really aren't a lot of other choices for stores with athletic gear. The only other feasible option is the Garden of Eden known as Scheels, except I can't get out of there without dropping at least $500 no matter what I went in looking for. They don't offer a lot of deals, but always have the best quality stuff, but if you need cheap crap go to Walmart, BPS, or Big 5. Screw Dicks... shop at Scheels. Dick's can kick rocks.

Kinsey: I'll fully admit I'd forgotten about the ammo thing. We were in the same situation as Ryan with athletic gear. There aren't many local options. Then we realized Dunham's has everything we need, and ammo if I need a box, and they even sell clothes that Mrs. Screencaps buys. We're done with Dicks.

– Jon C. tells me: Everyone seems to be commenting on the one kid catching the pass and running over everyone.  Did everyone miss the kid he high fived chest bumped at the end.  Almost as big as him.  Way back in the day when I played at that age (late 70s), we were broken down by weight class.

The heavy league even had an upper weight limit which increased about 3 pounds each week throughout the season.  There was weigh ins on game day just like wrestling.  Occasionally you’d have a 5th/6th grader playing up and a 7th/8th grader playing down.  This kid would probably blow through our weight limits and needs to be playing freshman high school at a minimum.

Kinsey: The kid is playing on a 12U team, so the other kid could be a year older. Still, we're talking about huge kids.

That poor running back.

– Big Den checks in: Somewhere in our abode I have a SuperHogs t-shirt from thr Reddkins Super Bowl era. It's worn out and thin but im proud of the years it took to wear out. As fans said then, GO HOGS!

And honorary hog John Riggins too. GO SKINS! If I was full-blodded American Indian I'd be proud to have my people represented. But I have to be satisfied with a miniscule part of Chippewa.

– Greg in Nebraska checks in on a couple of topics: I hope all is going well for the Screencaps as school gets going. This is my last year with drop off and pickup duties, barring mechanical failure of some kind over the 5 years. Next year my youngest will be a freshman and she will ride to High School with my oldest. Then my youngest turns 16 before her sophomore year starts so I/we only have until May to drop off and I’m so looking forward to not doing that next year. I know I’ll miss it a little too but not as much as celebrating not doing it.

Here is a drive thru story. The other day I drove through a place and started to order, "I’ll take a # 5". The guy cuts me off and says, "You want that crispy chicken. Oh yeah. Do you want curly fries too?" "Yes." "And what to drink?" I know how to order. I don’t know why he kept interrupting the order. It took a minute to say 11 words. Then after I paid, the guy at the window, he reached into my car to give me my card and receipt. I mean right up to my face. I told him to get his arms out of my car and he just went on about how he didn’t want to drop it blah blah blah. Is this some kind of Tik Tok Thing? Find ways to piss off people in a drive thru.

Regarding sports fundraisers. My oldest was supposed to raise $600. It was just a donation. No frozen cookies, or pop corn, or anything. It was nice to not have to deliver that stuff, but it’s awkward asking people to just give you money so we did not do that. Grandma kicked in some and I wrote a check for the rest. I thought about asking Clay for some cash but decided to save that request for next year when I’ll have 2 needing to get that $.

While you were on vacation, Marty H in Idaho sent in some great photos of his Idaho view. Made me think about retiring there. One of those photos was of a huge rotisserie chicken or small turkey he did on the grill. I have been thinking about getting a rotisserie for the grill and thought this is a great group to get feedback from. What gets cooked besides poultry and prime rib. Is it better than just having it on the grill or smoker? Is it easy to use? Is there a particular brand or feature I should look for? I’d appreciate any input.

Good luck to everyone’s kids as they start fall sports. Hope everyone stays healthy.

– Jim B. stops by: Good evening and thank you for keeping Screencaps at the sharp end of the spear. It is my daily read as I work to get the most from this summer. It's been awhile since I wrote and wanted to provide an update as this story has broken.

The triathlete coach who was attacked by an alligator in the Savannah River is my son, Jonathan. The news accounts have been fairly accurate. He is recovering and intends to race the Augusta 70.3 Ironman in September. He also will be racing in the full Ironman California in October. The attack happened on Sunday, Monday he ran 8 miles and today he biked 41miles with over 4,800 feet of climbing near where I live in the Western Carolina's. His biggest concern while in the water were the other athletes around him. He is most thankful to the Police and EMS, Doctors and Nurses at the Augusta Hospital, South Carolina DRN and all the athletes who have reached out.

I must admit it was a bit strange receiving a text Sunday morning saying "I'm okay now but I was attacked by a gator in the river. It bit onto my arm and pulled me under. I punched it and poked its eyes. It let me go and I swam to shore. Currently in the ER for surgery and stitches."

Be thankful each day. I hope your son has a great Cross Country Season. My son ran XC in high school and that started him on the journey to Ironman racer and Tri-Coach where he is today.

Kinsey: Talk about a small world. Jim B. has been emailing me since 2024. He's a NW Ohio native who grew up right down the road from us and went to The University of Toledo. In 2025, Jim told me all about his son and how he got into running and Ironman competitions.

Now here we are and his son is make worldwide news. That's the power of Screencaps. We have all corners of culture and sports covered.

That is it this morning. Stay away from the alligators! Stay safe out there on the golf course, in the waters where the alligators roam and anywhere else where the gators could turn you into a snack. Let's go get after it with another strong day of work. Have a great day.
