Smokin' Charley Hull respects summer in a sizzling new social media post, Little League drama & illegal tackle
Emotions are high this morning for Thursday Screencaps as we have a possible throat slash gesture from the Little League World Series and what was up with that massive New York Life advertisement that ESPN was running in dead center?
Let's get right into it with New Jersey's Mason Rincon beating Massachusetts on a walk-off home run on opening night. The big drama there was that it appeared Rincon gave a throat slash to the MA bench as he was running the bases. That's a big no-no in Little League.
Now, in travel ball, where Rincon spent his summer — on his Instagram there are multiple posts of Rincon playing 13U baseball at Perfect Game tournaments while also playing on teams that went to Ripken and Cooperstown tournaments — you can get away with throat slashes.

Again, I just hope none of you are sitting there thinking you're watching kids who spent May and June playing against their buddies in a 12U rec Little League division only to then create an all-star team that was entered in district tournaments.
Those days are long gone.
Rincon is as much of a hired gun as they come, but, it's all legal under the rules Little League has created as it deals with the loss of players to the travel ball world. ESPN has a TV product to sell, so it doesn't really matter where these kids spent the summer playing. They just need drama and eyeballs on that massive New York Life ad they popped up in CF.

There I was this morning creating this edition. I hit refresh on Instagram and Smokin' Charley Hull on a boat soaking up sun and heat was staring me in the face.
What a relief. It is this time of year when too many women get caught up in the trap that they need to be thinking about hoodies and cozy blanket season.

Imagine my frustration Wednesday when I learned about this weather guy who is giving out foliage reports from Alaska. Women see this nonsense and something in their brains triggers a need to bust out mantle decorations.

I spent Wednesday researching the women who will be featured on "Team Moms," the upcoming "reality" series on Paramount+ that will focus on travel ball moms. Let's just say that there are stars in the making and Rylee Baldri is a breakout star mom and I haven't even seen the show.
