'Fire Country' star Diane Farr reveals where she now lives after leaving Los Angeles behind

"Fire Country" star Diane Farr has revealed where she is now living after leaving Los Angeles behind.

During an interview with Fox News Digital, Farr explained that once her children went off to college, she didn't feel tied to California anymore and decided to put down roots in rural Washington. She also plans to split her time between Vancouver and Spain.

"So I actually moved to rural Washington because I could buy this pretty house, and it wasn't very expensive in comparison to living in LA for all those years," she said. "I live right on the water, so there's a lot of stand-up paddling and there's a lot of e-biking and really drinking in this gorgeous Pacific Northwest weather."

Farr stars in "Fire Country" which is filmed in Vancouver. Farr plays Sharon Leone on "Fire Country," a Cal Fire Division Chief and the mother of Bode Leone.

"Fire Country" season 5 is scheduled to premiere on October 9, 2026, airing Fridays at 9/8c on CBS and streaming the next day on Paramount+.

Farr told Fox News Digital that once her children went off to college and left California, she felt like she had "permission" to do the same.

'FIRE COUNTRY' STAR DIANE FARR LEAVES LOS ANGELES AFTER 30 YEARS TO START HER 'THIRD ACT'

"The permission came from my children being old enough that they live somewhere else. You know, they go to college, they live in other states, and I know women always talk about empty nest syndrome, and mine was unique," Farr began. "I didn't leave LA for 15 years when I had babies. I was afraid of working out of town. I was afraid of missing everything. I was afraid to do a one-hour drama."

The actress explained that she had her children when she was nearly 40 and "really wanted to be there."

"After the pandemic, 15 years had gone by. We spent two years at home and everybody was a teenager and mean to mom. And I thought, I can leave, I could go to Vancouver. I'm taking that drama," she continued.

Farr said that her "third act" was focused around how she could get more joy out of her life.

"My third act is gonna look like six months of the year in Spain and six months of the year in Vancouver, because it's really like how to get the joie de vie. It's how to live the most," Farr said.

At the end of July, Farr shared with her Instagram followers that she was leaving Los Angeles after 30 years.

"I wasn’t born here, I didn’t go to school here — I just had a chance for representation as an actor and I moved out of NYC the summer I was 26," she wrote. "I came like most of the people I love in Hollywoodland — none of which I saw this week bc moving sucks."

She went on to say that she came to Los Angeles "chasing a dream that I am still shocked worked out."

Farr's acting career began in the '90s, with the actress landing her breakthrough role in "Roswell" in 1999. She later earned leading roles in "Numb3rs," "Splitting Up Together" and, most recently, "Fire Country."

In addition to her acting career, Farr also reflected on the many other positive experiences she had while living in Los Angeles, including starting a family.

"I also got to raise babies in the sun and the mountains and enjoy this beautiful home and attend public schools ??" she said. "Pinch me I’m overwhelmed by the blessings and hope, really hope I gave enough back. LA will always be where my family is from."

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Farr explained what fans can expect from Sharon in season five.

"Well, last year was a lot of grief, right? Because she had lost Vince and this year she seems to have gotten some action with a very handsome man at the end of last season. So, I was sort of looking at it like Sharon hasn't dated or been single or been a party of one since she's about 20," she began. "So she's a little off the rails, you know, like she's kind of behaving like a 20 year old. Which isn't good when you're the boss, and you have children and people responsible for you."

Farr concluded, "So, she's not making her best choices this season."
