OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney sentenced to six years in boyfriend’s killing

If you or someone you know is the victim of domestic abuse, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233.

The OnlyFans model accused of killing her boyfriend inside a Miami apartment has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and was sentenced to six years in prison.

Courtney Clenney, 30, appeared inside a Miami courtroom on Monday morning where she accepted the deal, which included her pleading guilty to manslaughter with a deadly weapon.

She had previously been charged with second-degree murder in the April 2022 death of her boyfriend, 27-year-old Christian Obumseli.

As part of the plea agreement, Clenney was sentenced to six years in prison, followed by five years of probation. Clenney will receive credit for the nearly four years she has already spent behind bars since her 2022 arrest, meaning she could be released from prison and begin probation in about two years.

After her release, she will be required to undergo mental health and substance abuse evaluations and treatment.

As part of the plea deal, prosecutors said Clenney should not be allowed to profit from the killing and that they would support any effort by the Florida Attorney General’s Office to prevent her from doing so.

"We do believe that nobody should benefit financially from murdering somebody," Assistant State Attorney Shawn Abuhoff said.  "So we will provide any evidence that they request. We'll work hand in hand with the attorney general's office if they so seek to do some form or lien or some financial proceeding against Miss Clenney."

Obumseli’s family told the court Monday that his April 2022 death left a permanent void in their lives, describing him as someone who "loved deeply" and remained in what they called a destructive relationship despite previous violence.

"No sentence, no plea can bring back my son to me," his mother said.

The family said Obumseli had previously been cut in the face and stabbed and had written about fears that his love for Courtney Clenney could ultimately cost him his life.

"Your actions have left the Obumseli family with a void that can never be filled," a family representative said. "A chair where a family gathers for holidays will always remain empty."

"His life had meaning," the family representative added. "He had a future. And his family deserved to grow with him. He was robbed of all those things. While you still have all yours to enjoy."

Months after Clenney’s August 2022 arrest, Obumseli’s family filed a civil lawsuit against her and several companies connected to the couple’s apartment building.

The suit accused Clenney of battery and alleged that the condominium, property management and security defendants failed to provide adequate security despite circumstances the estate claimed made the fatal attack foreseeable.

Court records reviewed by Fox News Digital show that Clenney resolved the claims against her well before the criminal plea agreement became public.

On Dec. 3, 2025, the estate filed a notice of settlement "as to defendant, Courtney Clenney, only." The claims against Clenney were then voluntarily dismissed with prejudice on March 4, 2026.

The civil lawsuit continued against other defendants after Clenney was dismissed. That final order came 10 days before Clenney’s attorneys announced on July 31 that she had reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in her second-degree murder case.

In a statement, Clenney’s attorneys confirmed that a plea agreement had been reached but said its terms would not become final unless accepted by the court.

They said the agreement would be formally presented at the Aug. 10 hearing and declined to disclose its terms beforehand. The public civil docket reviewed by Fox News Digital does not disclose the terms of Clenney’s settlement.

Clenney, 30, has remained in custody since August 2022 in connection with Obumseli’s April 3, 2022, death at the Miami apartment she rented.

Her attorneys have alleged that Obumseli was abusive and argued that Clenney was a battered partner. Obumseli’s family has maintained that he was the victim of domestic violence.

At the time of her arrest, Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle characterized Obumseli's death as the culmination of a "tempestuous and combative relationship" that began in November 2020.

Fox News Digital has reached out to attorneys for Obumseli’s estate, Clenney's attorneys, One Paraiso Condominium Association, FirstService Residential and Aleros Capital Investment for comment.
