Army, IAF on standby as floods worsen in Upper Assam
Assam's government has requested the Indian Army and Air Force standby for flood rescue operations. Incessant rainfall has worsened the flood situation in Sivasagar, Charaideo, and Jorhat districts. Ministers have been deputed to affected districts to oversee relief and rescue efforts. Swift relief operations are being monitored by a dedicated ministerial team. State authorities continue rescue and relief operations while mobilizing additional resources.
