Noah Wyle, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio still captivating audiences well into their 50s

Hollywood actors are aging like fine wine.

Born between 1965 and 1980, actors belonging to Generation X continue to win audiences over with their dapper good looks.

With each new episode of "The Pitt," fans can't help but gush over how handsome Noah Wyle is, while Ryan Gosling recently won fans over again in his latest film, "Project Hail Mary."

Here are some of the best-looking actors belonging to Generation X.

Born in 1971, Wyle is still a Hollywood heartthrob at 55 years old.

He first broke onto the scene in season one of "E.R.," playing Dr. John Carter. He continued on the show for over 250 episodes, and earned five Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Award nominations.

The actor went on to have a successful film and television career following his time on "E.R.," and has since returned to his medical drama roots in the highly successful HBO Max show "The Pitt," for which he received an Emmy Award.

"What I’m enjoying now, is this very rare second lightning strike, which is allowing me an opportunity to be extremely grateful and humbled by it without feeling necessarily like I have to fake my way through it," he told The Hollywood Reporter in June about the success of "The Pitt."

Born in 1970, the 55-year-old actor has had fans swooning over him since he first gained national attention for his Academy Award-winning movie, "Good Will Hunting."

Damon won the award along with Ben Affleck for their work as screenwriters on the film, which led to both of them blossoming in their acting careers. Damon went on to star in "Saving Private Ryan" and "The Talented Mr. Ripley," before landing the starring role in the Jason Bourne Franchise.

In addition to those films, Damon has been involved in other acclaimed movies, including "The Departed," "The Martian" and "Interstellar."

"The journey is everything! It’s a cliché, but I have really felt it in my own life, in the 25 or 30 years I’ve been in this," he told The Talks in December 2019. "The goal is the process, really enjoying the process. You can’t really predict what is going to happen with movies… I have made movies that I thought were really going to be well received and successful, and they failed miserably. And I have made movies that were very successful that I didn’t see coming."

Born in 1974, Leonardo DiCaprio has been stealing hearts since he first appeared on-screen as a child actor in "Parenthood."

The 51-year-old actor earned his first Academy Award nomination at the age of 19 for his role in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape," following that up with notable roles in big movies before starring as Jack in his career-defining role in 1997's "Titanic."

He continued starring in many acclaimed films, and was nominated for his roles in "The Aviator," "Blood Diamond," "The Wolf of Wall Street" and "The Revenant," which featured the role that finally won him the Oscar. He later received another nomination for "Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood."

"I knew this was going to be somewhat of a silent performance; that’s part of what was exciting," he told Variety about "The Revenant" in January 2016. "But more than anything, I think I learned a lot about being an actor on this movie. It has a lot to do with trust. Trusting the people you’re working with, giving yourself over to a unique process, and trusting that if the people you’re working with are committed like Alejandro [González Iñárritu, the movie's director], you can focus on being in the moment and rely on your instincts and trust the journey."

Born in 1975, the 51-year-old actor has often been referred to as an internet daddy.

Pedro Pascal spent decades building his resume with small roles in popular TV shows before breaking through with the role of Prince Oberyn Martell in season four of "Game of Thrones."

He continued the momentum that role earned him, starring in TV shows such as "Narcos," "The Mandalorian" and most recently, "The Last of Us," as well as films such as "Wonder Woman," "Gladiator II" and "Fantastic Four: First Steps."

"The whole world of gaming really opened up to me when I took on this part," he told NPR in August 2025 about his role in "The Last of Us." "My nephews lost their minds when they found out that I had gotten this job and I hadn't heard of [the game]."

Born in 1980, Gosling has been enchanting audiences since his days on "The Mickey Mouse Club" in the 90s.

Following his time on the show, the 45-year-old actor appeared in a number of TV shows and movies, before capturing the audience's hearts as Noah in the 2004 movie "The Notebook."

"The fact that I wasn’t really right for it was exactly why he thought I was right for it," Gosling told GQ in May 2023 about "The Notebook" director, Nick Cassavetes, adding he "straight up told me: ‘The fact that you have no natural leading man qualities is why I want you to be my leading man.’"

He has since been a leading man in many films, including "Half Nelson," "La La Land" and "Barbie," all three of which earned him Oscar nominations.

Born in 1971, Jon Hamm worked as a high school teacher before transitioning to acting with early roles in "CSI: Miami" and "The Division."

The 55-year-old actor gained international recognition when he landed the leading role of Don Draper in the hit AMC show "Mad Men," which earned him an Emmy Award as well as many other nominations.

"'Mad Men' was a show that penetrated the culture, and while a lot of that is luck and right place/right time stuff," he told USA Today in April 2025. "There are elements in this new show that speak directly to the times we're living through, specifically this bizarre fascination with more, (and) how 'more' has become the watchword, instead of 'enough.'"

He followed that up with roles in films such as "Bridesmaids," "Baby Driver" and "Top Gun: Maverick," and television shows such as season five of "Fargo," "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" and "The Morning Show," most recently starring in season two of "Your Friends and Neighbors."

Born in 1971, Bradley Cooper has only gotten better since starting his acting career with an appearance in a 1999 episode of "Sex and the City."

The 51-year-old actor had his big break in the 2009 movie "The Hangover," following that up with multiple Academy Award-nominated roles in "Silver Linings Playbook," "American Hustle" and "American Sniper."

In addition to voicing Rocket Racoon in multiple films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he also tried his hand at directing. His work on "A Star Is Born," "Nightmare Alley" and "Maestro" all went on to earn Academy Award nominations for best picture.

"As the director, you decide early on things that you will die on the sword for, because you know that they are necessary for the film," he told The Hollywood Reporter in February 2024 about directing "Maestro." "One example is when we were looking at locations, and we came across that Fairfield, Conn., house that they lived in. It was so concretized in my mind as the director that that was where we needed to film. That brought with its challenges, but as the producer, knowing that the director really felt that it was essential, we did everything we could to make that work."

Born in 1968, Hugh Jackman has long been showing his chiseled abs on camera, as he's been playing Wolverine since his breakout role in 2000's "X-Men."

The 57-year-old actor has since played the character in 10 films, most recently in the 2024 action/comedy "Deadpool & Wolverine."

Aside from his roles in action movies, Jackman has also embraced his love of musical theater, appearing on Broadway in many musicals, even winning the Tony Award for best actor in a musical for his role in "The Boy From Oz." He's also starred in the movie musicals "Les Miserables," which earned him an Academy Award nomination, and "The Greatest Showman."

"Vocally, sometimes you have those ‘I can do anything’ days, and the next day you’re at 80%, so on those days when you’re feeling great, we would just pop over to the studio and record," Jackman told Variety in December 2017 about "The Greatest Showman." "There’s a couple of bits where I sing notes that I’ve never sung. I couldn’t have done that live."

Born in 1969, Matthew McConaughey has been charming audiences with his southern drawl since he first broke out onto the scene in "Dazed and Confused" in 1993.

He continued to steal hearts as a leading man in many iconic romantic comedies, including "The Wedding Planner," "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" and "Fool's Gold."

Around 2012, he began establishing himself as a dramatic actor, proving himself in "Dallas Buyers Club," which earned him an Oscar, and later in season one of "True Detective," which earned him an Emmy Award.

"Every character is a journey into finding who are they in me, at some point," he told The Talks in September 2025. "Look, I can find a way to understand and believe in someone if they have identity — and boy, if you get good writing and the identity is there, like with Rustin Cole, my character in 'True Detective,' the identity was there. I didn’t have to act as much because the words were so good. It was just about understanding the words, believing in them and saying them. Don’t explain them!"
