Prohibitory orders imposed in Coimbatore under Madras City Police Act

According to an official press release, no public meetings, demonstrations, processions, picketing, fasts or public events can be held within the Coimbatore city police limits without obtaining prior permission from the police department. The use of loudspeakers in any public event during this period is strictly prohibited without advance police authorisation.
