Texas sheriff rescues RV full of Swedish World Cup fans who needed a helping hand, buy Burrow's Bronco & MEAT
The sun is shining the brightest it has shined this summer. The flowers are opening by the minute. The U.S. Open is on TV. And we get another U.S. men's soccer match this afternoon. Guys, if there was ever a day to skip work after lunch, this is it. But, first, let's dive into Friday Screencaps.
By now, you've seen it all from the European & Japanese World Cup fans traveling around the U.S. But you haven't seen a Texas sheriff having to save the day until this morning. Let's go to Atascosa County, Texas where an RV full of Swedish soccer fans needed the help of Deputy Chief Eric Kaiser after a minor accident along I-37 south of San Antonio.
"It's World Cup time, and it turns out these five Swedes flew into Dallas, picked up an RV, and have been chasing their national team across North America — already caught a match in Monterrey, Mexico, with stops in Houston and Los Angeles still ahead. Talk about dedication to your nation's team!" the Atascosa County Sheriff's Office wrote on Facebook.
"Good news: everybody was okay. Texas DPS Troopers and our Deputy Chief made sure they were safe and squared away before they got back on the road," the sheriff's department added.
"They told us that back home, Texas and our Deputy Sheriff's are something they'd only seen in the movies...they didn't expect to find the genuine article out here in Atascosa County."
Another day, another great story about a summer that the United States, and the world, will never forget.
It's mornings and stories like this one that make me smile because it's exactly what jerkoff Greg in Nebraska hates. Greg's email appeared in yesterday's edition of Screencaps – British World Cup fans can't get enough of American hot dogs during the tournament, buy a Bond bike & MEAT!
He goes to bed at night hoping for stories of Europeans trashing the U.S. Instead, he's getting these stories. Tough luck, Greg.

On to the World Cup, I will preface by saying that the "flopping" has to go. For those that do not understand or enjoy the sport of soccer , please understand the level of athleticism with some of the world’s best athletes. Kyle Rote Jr. (Dallas Tornado) stepped into ABC’s "Superstars" in the 1970s and competed across 10 disciplines against talent from the NFL, MLB NHL and NBA including Olympians. He didn’t just hold his own; he won the competition three times (’74,76 and ’77). The format was simple: pure, all-around athleticism—speed, strength, endurance and coordination across multiple events, That’s it, world class athletes, world-class effort worth the watch. Lets go USA!
– Phil in Florida takes a shot at Greg and Sarah, who think they're going to roll in here and tell me how things are going to run: Good morning sir. On Greg and Sarah: they suck. Why are they going to sites and reading articles that they know are going to make them mad? Does the left NEED to spew hate? I don’t click anything with an nbc or cnn logo. Much less read the article I disagree with, then contact the writer. I just avoid things I don’t like. Why can’t the left figure this out too? It baffles me that they will seemingly hunt down something they don’t like just to make loud angry noises.

"The same few boring tweets…" Really? Perhaps he should expand his algorithm. The "State Media"…that is funny to me. When someone breaks out the all-caps and refers to people they don’t agree with as "your kind," you already know you won the discussion.
I am waiting for Karen/Greg W to respond with accusations of Kevin G being a white supremacist next. Albeit that is pretty easily predicted.
I have been to Central America, Europe, Australia, and North Africa. I know an Iraqi who was an interpreter for the US Army for four years and had to be rescued by private citizens because the evac plan had a seat on a helicopter for him, but not his wife and daughters…ya let me leave them behind to ISIS and Sharia Law to be raped and trafficked. He loves America.
Everywhere I have been, I have encountered FAR MORE, that was for Karen/Greg W., people who completely embraced me, treated me well, several who treated me like family. So I guess there are "your kind" of people all over the world, which would be quite concerning if you are K/GW.
Kilted up, I survived a 5-day trip to Scotland for a friend’s wedding, who was marrying a lovely woman from Edinburgh. 3 days at Dalhousie Castle for the wedding and post-wedding party. The Scots adopted me, the only other American besides the groom. There were English, French, Australian, and Canadian people in the group… during the World Cup, and we were all one big happy family. I spent a couple of extra days with the maid of honor and then decided to go to Belfast just because I could. Oddly enough, no one hated me there either.
I bet K/GW hated UFC 250.
Keep up the good work, Joe. Reading the column and chuckling about things that I would have talked with my Dad about makes me smile, even though he passed a few months ago.
God bless our troops, our first responders, and ALL Americans, even if they think I am one of those "your kind" of people. What others think of me is none of my business, and if I live their head because of what I believe and the things I actually do….well, that is their problem.

– Dan from AZ is all over Greg: Greg sounds like yet another in the increasingly long list of boring losers who have allowed their hatred of a single man they’ve never met to consume their entire lives and identities. Believe it or not Greg, not everyone in this country (or others) bases all of their thoughts and opinions on who currently resides in the White House. Are you scared that some Europeans are coming over here and discovering the many wonderful parts of our country without focusing on "orange mad bad"? The continental US is about twice as large as the EU in land mass and our total populations aren’t all that different. It’s amazing to think about how different our two continents are just geographically, imagine coming over here and experiencing that for the first time.Go out and touch some grass Greg. But I bet he won’t tonight. Is there any doubt in your mind this dude mows on Saturday afternoons?

Trust me, it wasn't easy to get our 3rd party vendor to design a shirt like I wanted it designed, but it finally got done and Jay B. in Jacksonville says the shirts turned out so nice that he should've bought one for himself.

– Father's Day perspective from my buddy Diesel on what makes for a nice Father's Day: To be honest…that has changed for me over the years. When I was younger I wanted to spend time away from everyone. It was my day and I loved it. As I progress in years, my priorities have changed. I want to be surrounded by my family! Time is not guaranteed so enjoy the little things and right now to me that is my small circle of friend and my family!
As we close out another week, I wanted to brag on Mrs. Screencaps for a minute. She's worked her butt off to make our patio life incredible. The flowers are entering the height of their year and all I keep thinking is that it looks like walking into something that AI would create.
This right here is why I don't go to patio bars in the summer. There's no need. This is also why I hate mowing on weekends. I would rather be enjoying this life.
