Chiefs heiress Hunt sisters inspire Team USA to incredible win over Paraguay, buy Bulls banner & brisket
Let's get this Saturday rolling with an edition of Screencaps where we address an inspired Team USA performance last night against Paraguay and why that single performance should inspire you to watch this team even if you hate soccer.
Look, I get it, you hate the sport, you think guys just flop around on the field like LeBron James after someone breathes on his arm. Last night was just different from when I've watched Team USA in the past. I'm not even some soccer nerd, but there I was glued to the TV as the offense mounted attack after attack. Guys chased down Paraguay. They battled. They weren't the soft team for once.
Team USA is typically the soft team. I seem to remember the squad being filled with guys wearing those rubber bands around their head and always worried about their soccer hair. It was embarrassing. Not this team. The offense has dudes who are physical freaks who can launch constant attacks. Pundits have been wondering where the physical freaks have been for U.S. soccer. Last night, that was answered. This team is just different.
I watched most of the second half and I didn't see one guy running his hand through his hair all worried about his street cred with the Euros. That's also a great sign.
And then there's the Gio Reyna goal. I played enough soccer in my life to know that this goal will inspire hundreds of thousands of soccer kids across this country who will attempt this kick with the outside of their right foot. The U.S. has itself a viral soccer moment that came in a victory. This is huge.
I don't know who this coach is. I don't know what he told that squad. I don't know anything about the guy, but whatever he did to challenge the manhood of his players should be studied, turned into a movie, whatever, because it was all gas, no brake out of Team USA.

You're damn right the Chiefs heiress Hunt sisters were in L.A. last night for the big game. By now, you should know that Gracie Hunt and her sister, Ava, who attends SMU, are legit soccer fans. That's not fake like the majority of the Hollywood elite who were featured in the stands.
Their grandfather, Lamar, not only founded the Kansas City Chiefs, but he also founded/created MLS. "FÚTBOL IS LIFEEEEE," Gracie wrote last night on Instagram. She's not lying.
This family is not only getting rich off the Chiefs, but also the rise of soccer in the U.S. Between Gracie and Ava, you're looking at heiresses who not only will have Chiefs money to blow on trips around the world, but the MLS money won't be bad down the road. Put it this way, these two have generational wealth.

Seeing how things we take for granted everyday, such as the size of the roads, the size of the stores and how much we have access to in these stores, are totally different from what they have in say England for example.
How they like trying things like southern cooking, or PB&J sandwiches, or even cooking a pot roast. Now with the article about how soccer fans are falling in love with rural America maybe the tide is starting to change. Maybe the lies from the media, the big liberal thinking cities, maybe that veil is being removed. I'm hoping so because the real America is fantastic and people are starting to realize that now and I hope these things go viral. The Trump administration should be publicizing this stuff and going overboard with it.
Should be all over Clay's show and Fox News. We went from 911 being a travesty to sympathizing with terrorists. Time to kick out the vocal minority and the silent majority needs to come on out. I'll start it. LFG real America!
INTERNET FALLS IN LOVE WITH GERMAN SOCCER FAN DISCOVERING AMERICAN SOUTH AHEAD OF 2026 WORLD CUP
– Duke in North Carolina checks in on this topic: I am seeing an absolute explosion in my socials of Europeans coming in for the world cup and getting a taste of the good ol 'US of A. Everything from Waffle House, Buc EE's, gas station chicken in the south, to how warm, open, and friendly Americans are. They are absolutely blown away at their welcome and how life is here. Honestly it comes as no surprise as our family has hosted various exchange students over the years and each has marveled at the exact same types of experiences and interactions. I will never forget having two French and two Chinese highschoolers along with my daughter out for a mall day and lunch at Waffle House. It was literally the same level of giddiness as when we took our daughters to Disney.
It will be interesting to see how different media platforms handle this. Do they focus on these experiences? Or do they focus on the inevitable bad experiences that will unfortunately happen to some of the visitors? I guess like everything, it will depend upon their narrative. As an astute a watcher of social media trends as you are I am sure you're seeing the same.
Keep up the great work and thank you for uniting so many of us in the ordinary and awesome things that make living in the US such an honor!
Kinsey: I hear you guys loud and clear. I just hope this wasn't some sort of coordinated attack of content sponsored by some brand like Visa. I just hope these soccer fans aren't about to end up on a commercial during the World Cup where they break the news to us that some credit card company has been sponsoring the whole thing.
I'm begging these Euros to be wholesome and not bought and paid for by brands that see this as an earned media play. Definition: "Earned media is any organic publicity or brand exposure gained through unpaid means, such as social media mentions."

Don't get defensive. Be honest, have you ever planned a trip to feel like you need to keep up with the Joneses? Men, unless they're just morons, tend not to be the ones who need to brag about their vacations. It's the Stanley-succin' suburban moms out there who I'm looking at.
