REVEALED: RINO Cornyn Praised and Supported Muslim Group That Funded Texas Mosque Behind ‘Sharia City’ Near Dallas
RINO Senator John Cornyn praised and supported the Muslim group behind the mosque that funded the ‘EPIC City’ Sharia community outside of Dallas, Texas.
John Cornyn is currently in a competitive Senate primary runoff against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
The East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC), via its affiliate Community Capitol Partners, is seeking to construct a 1,000-home settlement around 40 minutes from Dallas.
The “Sharia City” would come complete with a mega mosque, Sharia-adherent Muslim schools, a community college, and sporting facilities.
Hero Paxton previously uncovered illegal activities by the EPIC City developers and vowed to stop them.
Last October, Paxton uncovered “illegal activities” by the developers of the ‘Sharia City’ and super mosque.
“I’ve uncovered illegal activities by EPIC City developers and requested a referral from the State Securities Board to file a lawsuit,” Ken Paxton said.
“After a thorough investigation, it has become clear that the developers behind EPIC City flagrantly and undeniably violated the law,” he said.
“Attorney General Ken Paxton announced the identification of evidence that entities connected to the East Plano Islamic Center (“EPIC”) land development project violated federal and state securities laws and regulations. Attorney General Paxton has formally requested that the Texas State Securities Board (“TSSB”) immediately review the findings and refer the matter back to the Office of the Attorney General in order to file a lawsuit against those who broke the law,” Paxton’s office said.
“In March, Attorney General Ken Paxton announced an investigation into EPIC City. He then expanded the investigation and requested documents from local municipalities and other entities that may have coordinated with those involved in the unlawful development. This thorough investigation revealed that certain people and entities affiliated with EPIC City violated state and federal securities law,” Paxton’s office said.
“In order to sue and hold the parties behind EPIC City accountable, the Office of the Attorney General must receive a referral from the Texas State Securities Board. Attorney General Paxton has invited Chairman E. Wally Kinney and Commissioner Travis J. Iles to examine the initial findings and corresponding evidence that demonstrates the EPIC City development project violated the law and subsequently refer the matter back to the Attorney General’s office for further legal action if the TSSB agrees with the office’s findings,” they said.

Texas Sen. John Cornyn has repeatedly praised the American arm of Islamic Relief Worldwide — a charity the State Department cut ties with in 2021 amid concerns including praise of terrorists and antisemitism.
After the State Department aired its concerns regarding Islamic Relief Worldwide, Cornyn had kind words for its American branch. A Fox News Digital review uncovered two video messages and two letters where Cornyn commended Islamic Relief USA or endorsed the organization’s operations.
“Thanks to my friends at Islamic Relief USA for all their humanitarian work,” Cornyn said in a May 2021 video address to the organization. A year later, the senator wrote a letter to Islamic Relief USA to “recognize and thank” the organization for its “humanitarian efforts across Texas and our nation.” In a 2023 letter, Cornyn again referred to IRUSA as “friends” and commended the group for its “dedication to serving our most vulnerable neighbors.”
Cornyn is locked in a heated Senate primary runoff election against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Paxton has repeatedly questioned Cornyn’s conservative bona fides, while Cornyn has responded by highlighting the attorney general’s corruption scandals. Both candidates have made opposition to what they perceive as radical Islam focal points of their campaigns.
Last year, Texas Governor Greg Abbott launched a campaign against a planned Islamic “mega-city” outside Dallas.
The Trump Justice Department opened an investigation into the planned Sharia City.
