THE LOWDOWN
The opportunity to move five points clear of Falkirk exists for Head Coach David Gray’s side, who are looking to get back to winning ways in the Premiership, as does the chance to try and close the gap with fourth-placed Motherwell.
Despite producing a spirited performance against Celtic at Easter Road last weekend, during which we played over 70 minutes with ten-men, we fell to a 2-1 defeat.
Daizen Maeda put the visitors ahead after 41 minutes, only for Joe Newell to net a leveller seven minutes later.
We looked likely to hold on for a point, but Celtic substitute Kelechi Iheanacho struck a late winner for Martin O’Neill’s side to claim the victory.
THE HOSTS
After 15 years in the Scottish Championship, Falkirk were promoted back to the Premiership ahead of the 2025/26 season, and it’s been an impressive campaign by John McGlynn’s men, who are also challenging for European football next season.
Following a run of difficult results, which saw them lose to both Rangers and Celtic, and also fall to defeat in the Scottish Gas Men’s Scottish semi-final against rivals Dunfermline Athletic, the Bairns served a reminder of their ability with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Motherwell on Saturday.
A brace from Kieron Bowie and a Martin Boyle penalty saw us ease past Falkirk at Easter Road in December, but it was roles reversed in January when we fell to a 4-1 defeat at Falkirk Stadium - our heaviest defeat of the campaign.
TEAM NEWS
Josh Mulligan and Munashe Garananga are on the road back from injury, while Rudi Molotnikov is unavailable for the rest of the 2025/26 season.
The Hibees will be without Raphael Sallinger, Felix Passlack and Jamie McGrath, who are all suspended, while defender Grant Hanley is eligible after serving his two-match ban.
Head Coach David Gray will provide a squad update to the media ahead of the fixture on Friday afternoon at HTC.
