Tons of celebrities, including Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Olivia Rodrigo, gathered inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 4 to celebrate the newly opened “Costume Art” exhibit. Between the red carpet, drinks, dinner, and a performance from Sabrina Carpenter and Stevie Knicks, there were lots of juicy behind-the-scenes moments.

One Star Allegedly Wanted Nothing To Do With Katy Perry
According to a Deux Moi post on Instagram, an unnamed “supermodel/actress allegedly told people to keep Katy Perry away from her” at the 2026 Met Gala. In the comments, several Instagram users suspected the post might refer to Cara Delevigne, who was one of the hosts of Vogue’s livestream.
Perry’s Met Gala appearance in a Stella McCartney dress and a space-esque mask comes just weeks after she was accused of sexual assault by Australian actress Ruby Rose. In a series of Threads posts on April 12, Rose alleged that Perry assaulted her at an Australian nightclub in 2010. A representative for Perry has since denied the allegations, calling Rose’s claims “dangerous reckless lies.” Rose’s claims are being investigated by police in Victoria, Australia.

Rihanna & Ciara Settled Their Beef
Rihanna and Ciara proved their 2011 Twitter feud is well and truly over by posing together inside the Met Gala along with Perry.
Rihanna and Ciara infamously clashed after Ciara claimed on a 2011 episode of E!’s Fashion Police that she’d “always loved and respected what [Rihanna] had done in fashion” but that they’d had an unpleasant interaction, per E! News
In response, Rihanna wrote on Twitter, “My bad Ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme.” Ciara then responded, “Trust me Rihanna u don’t want to see me on or off the stage.” Rihanna then hit back, “Good luck with bookin that stage u speak of.”
Rihanna soon apologized, writing, “Ciara baby, I love u girl! U hurt my feelings real bad on TV! I’m heartbroken! That’s y I retaliated this way! So sorry.” Ciara accepted the apology, writing “u know its always been love since day 1!” and adding “Let’s chat in person.”

Lauren Sánchez May Have Stolen Anna Wintour’s Shine
Sánchez seemingly leaned into her role as one of the 2026 Met Gala’s honorary co-chairs and biggest financial sponsors, alongside husband Jeff Bezos. Eyewitnesses told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice that while former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is still the night’s host in theory, in practice, it was all about Lauren.
“Inside the room, Lauren was the gravitational center,” one guest said. “Anna still had the title, but Lauren had the heat. People weren’t chasing Anna’s approval — they were chasing Lauren’s money.”

Jeff Bezos Snuck In Past Protestors
Bezos’s role at the Met Gala inspired protests outside the event that raged on as guests posed on the steps, but the Amazon founder opted not to face protestors and, instead, just slipped in through the back. Per the New York Times, Bezos joined during the cocktail hour and was seen chatting with Wendi Murdoch and Gayle King, whom he sent to space last year with his wife.
The Heated Rivalry Boys Partied All Night
It seems like Heated Rivalry stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams didn’t want their first Met Gala to end. Deux Moi shared photos of Storrie arriving back at his hotel at 6 am on May 5 after hopping around afterparties all night long.
TMZ, meanwhile, caught a video of Williams on the streets of New York at 6 am after he was mistakenly dropped off at the wrong hotel.
Zoë Kravitz Wasn’t In The Mood To Chat
Kravitz was overheard in a red carpet video, making it clear that she didn’t want to do any interviews.
All eyes were on the actress’s left hand after sources confirmed that she got engaged to Harry Styles last month. However, the Blink Twice director appeared to be without the sparkly ring she’s been seen wearing of late.
