Justin Baldoni’s Lawyer Addresses Blake Lively Settlement, Keeps Vague on 1 Key Detail

Justin Baldoni‘s lawyer is speaking out about the settling of the It Ends with Us lawsuit.

If you did not see the news, the lawyers released a statement confirming Justin and his former co-star Blake Lively had settled out of court.

Lawyers for both parties said on Monday night (May 4):

“The end product – the movie ‘It Ends With Us’ – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind.

We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard. We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”

Today, we have more info. First, there was no money exchanged between parties as part of the settlement.

Baldoni‘s lawyer Bryan Freedman released a statement saying that Justin is “feeling pretty good” about the settlement. He also said they were “presented” with the opportunity to settle.

“There was a willingness to get the case resolved, given the opportunity and the position the case was set, and so, you know, when we were presented with an opportunity, we took that opportunity,” he said to NBC News.

He did not specifically say if Blake’s team presented a settlement offer to Justin’s team, keeping it vague.

He gave another interview on Tuesday (May 5), where he again said the “opportunity” came along to settle.

“When an opportunity comes along that is way too good to pass up…” he told TMZ.

After he said this, he was questioned if Blake‘s team approached Justin‘s team with the settlement, and Freedman said in response, “It’s not a question of who the overture was made by. I think that the opportunity existed, and it was an incredible opportunity, and you don’t pass up an incredible opportunity.”

He declared this a “huge victory” for Justin.
