2026 Retained & Released List
With the 2025/26 season now at an end, we can confirm our full retained and released squad list.
Seven players have been released following the expiration of their contracts.
We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to all seven for their efforts and contributions during their time with us, and wish each of them the very best for their futures.
Ross Matthews
Ross Matthews leaves Raith Rovers as our 12th highest appearance holder of all time, having amassed a remarkable 376 appearances for the club.
The midfielder joined as an apprentice in 2013 and made his first start in 2015. He wore the captain’s armband for two Challenge Cup final victories and celebrated 10 years of service with a testimonial fixture against Hearts in 2024.
A true modern-day Rovers legend.
Jack Hamilton
Striker Jack Hamilton signed in 2023 and went on to make over 100 appearances for the club.
A member of the side that reached the play-off final in the 2023/24 season, Jack scored a number of important goals that will live long in the memory of supporters.
Josh Mullin
Josh Mullin also signed in 2023 and provided a number of memorable moments across his 135 appearances. He also started in our recent Challenge Cup final victory.
The winger bowed out in style, scoring the winning goal with his final touch against Ross County, having already registered assists in the match.
Shaun Byrne
Kirkcaldy-born midfielder Shaun Byrne initially joined on a season-long loan in 2023, quickly becoming a fans’ favourite at Stark’s Park.
After playing a key role in the 2023/24 title challenge, Shaun made his move permanent. He departs with 89 appearances to his name.
Aidan Glavin
Goalkeeper Aidan Glavin joined last summer following his departure from Kilmarnock. Glav made his competitive debut against Hamilton in the KDM Evolution Trophy and was a valued member of the goalkeeping group alongside Josh Rae, throughout the season.
Calum Hannah
Local lad Calum Hannah departs after three seasons with the first-team squad. A popular figure, Calum made seven appearances and enjoyed loan spells with Albion Rovers, Montrose, Clyde and Brechin.
Logan Raeside
Another local player, Logan became the second to progress into the first-team squad from the Raith Rovers Community Club last summer. He featured in pre-season and spent time on loan at Hill of Beath and Dundonald Bluebell.
