Teyena Taylor Looks Unrecognizable in a Mesmerizing Silver Gown at the 2026 Met Gala
Ever since her Met Gala debut in 2021, Oscar-nominated actress Teyena Taylor has been a staple on the Met Gala red carpet; and has hit the top of the best-dressed list every single time. And this year is no different (except for the fact that she’s officially part of the Host Committee AND that she did a total style 180)!
As many know by now, the 2026 Met Gala theme is “Costume Art,” with the dress code “Fashion Is Art.” For this year, Taylor arrived in something so gorgeous (and so unexpected). See the photos below:
Instead of going with a jaw-dropping naked dress or something that shows off her abs, Taylor has decided to do the opposite: by wowing in an entirely silver fringe gown that has incredible movement.
It’s fierce, it’s fun, and the movement of it all makes it perfectly on theme! (With art, there’s movement and sculpture, and this dress totally gives off that vibe!)

In the 2021 Met Gala themed “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” she turned heads in a long-train, silver bikini Prabal Gurung look, and for part two of the same theme in 2022, she wowed in an alien-like, blue marble Iris van Herpen gown. For 2023, the Met Gala honoring Karl Lagerfeld, she wowed in a custom Thom Browne tweed look.
Then, in 2024 and 2025, red became her signature color. In 2024, she channeled princesses in a draped, floral red gown from The Blonds, and for 2025: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” she wore the most iconic look. Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter created the tailored red look, inspired by Taylor’s 2018 song, “Rose in Harlem.”
