Blake Lively Brought Her Kids To The 2026 Met Gala (Kinda)
Blake Lively’s four kids were with her in spirit at the 2026 Met Gala.
The actress made her return to the Met Gala after four years on May 4 wearing a 2006 Versace gown in pastel watercolor tones which she styled with a bedazzled Judith Leiber handbag customized with artwork made by each of her four kids.
“My kids each painted a water color painting,” Lively, 38, told red carpet host Lala Anthony during Vogue’s livestream. “Each of my four kids did this.” Lively added that having a piece of her kids with her was serving as her support system during the big night out. “I’m shy too so I just like to have my kids with me,” she said. “It’s my little comfort.”
Lively shares daughters James, 11, Inez, 9, and Betty, 6, and son Olin, 3, with her husband of almost 14 years, Ryan Reynolds. Lively attended this year’s Met Gala solo after previously co-chairing the event with Reynolds in 2022.
The 2026 Met Gala came hours after news broke that she and Justin Baldoni settled their It Ends With Us legal battle two weeks before it was set for trial. Lively’s attorneys, Michael Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, announced in a joint statement with Justin Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios lawyers, Bryan Freedman and Ellyn Garofalo, that they’d reached a settlement in their legal battle which began in December 2024.
“The end product — the movie It Ends With Us — is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life,” read the joint statement, per Deadline. “Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors — and all survivors — is a goal that we stand behind.”
“We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard. We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments,” continued the statement. “It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”
