Nintendo Just Announced They Are Bundling Switch 2 With a Mega Hit Game This Summer
One of the complaints about the Switch 2 in its first year of existence has been a lack of landmark titles to play on the console. No Super Mario or The Legend of Zelda games have been announced as of this writing, but that doesn't mean fans are correct about the dearth of great games to enjoy.
One of the biggest hits of the early spring has been Pokémon Pokopia. The game is a lifestyle simulator much in the same vein as Animal Crossing, only it's set in the world of Pokémon. What else do you need to enjoy a relaxing weekend in front of the TV?
Now Nintendo is encouraging gamers to buy both Pokémon Pokopia and a Switch 2 at the same time with an exclusive bundle releasing June 5 in Australia and New Zealand. There is no price set at this time for the bundle. There also isn't any announcement regarding the bundle coming out in North America, Europe, or Japan. Perhaps Nintendo is trying to test the waters with this bundle before releasing it in bigger markets down the line.
The game itself has sold 2.2 million copies as of March 9, 2026, good for the fourth-highest sales on the console so far. This was only four days after its release on March 5. It is one of the highest reviewed Switch 2 games on Metacritic with a score of 89/100 based on 110 critic reviews.
Nintendo has slowly and steadily released some of its most iconic characters and franchises on the Switch 2. The best game on the Switch is probably Donkey Kong Bananza. Pokémon Pokopia and Mario Kart World are perhaps the other two biggest titles on the console in its first year. The latter is currently featured in a bundle with the Switch 2 and has been since the launch last June.
Other big games are coming to the Switch in the coming months. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is headed to Switch 2 on May 21, 2026. A new Fire Emblem game will also be arriving in 2026, although there isn't a concrete date yet.
