Welcome, George Oakley!
Raith Rovers Football Club is delighted to announce that George Oakley will join the club upon the expiry of his contract at Ayr United, signing a two-year deal.
A familiar face to Championship supporters, the 30-year-old striker will reunite with Dougie Imrie in Kirkcaldy following their time together at Morton.
Upon joining the club, George said: “I’m buzzing to be here and in a Rovers shirt. I can’t wait for the season to begin and be out in front of the Rovers fans.
“Dougie and Andy know me inside out as a person and a player to get the best out me, and I’m grateful to get another opportunity to work under them.
“We’ll take some time to relax before the hard work starts again in pre-season, but I’m already buzzing to get started.”
The Englishman came through the ranks at AFC Wimbledon, signing his first professional contract in 2014.
After departing in 2017, Oakley made the move across the border to join Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Following a season and a half in the Highlands, he moved to Premiership side Hamilton Academical.
After leaving Hamilton in 2020, Oakley went on to feature in Bulgaria and England, as well as enjoying spells with Kilmarnock and a return to Inverness. He signed for Morton in 2022, spending three years at Cappielow before joining Ayr United.
His first season with The Honest Men proved fruitful, scoring 13 goals and earning a place in the 2024/25 PFA Championship Team of the Season.
Although he struggled with injury during the 2025/26 campaign, Oakley arrives at Stark’s Park ready and raring for the season ahead.
Welcome to Kirkcaldy, George!
