THE LOWDOWN
Darren McGregor’s side saw their five-game unbeaten run come to an end last week, and are now looking to bounce back from Friday night’s derby defeat at Oriam.
We would trail by two at the break, with Charlie Sanders and Tommy North both finding the net for the home team as we struggled to deal with set pieces.
Jamie McMurdo would lash in a close-range strike to half the deficit just past the hour mark, before Hearts substitute Callen Robb slid in his side’s third on 67 minutes.
Jayden Mathie would be dismissed for a reckless challenge on Ryan Mallon in the final minutes, but the 10-men hosts would hold on to inflict just a second league defeat of the campaign on the Hibees.
The youngsters are now level on points with Rangers at the top of the table, with the two sides four points clear ahead of third-place Hearts with two league matches still to play.
THE VISITORS
The victory at Riccarton pulled Hearts up to third place, on 22 points, in the CAS Elite U19 League table with two matches of the season remaining.
David McNeil’s side have now won their last three league matches – with a narrow 3-2 win over Celtic and an impressive 4-0 victory over St Mirren preceding last week’s derby.
