Cameron Diaz, Benji Madden Welcome New Baby With Another Unique Name

Actress Cameron Diaz and rocker Benji Madden are the proud parents of a newborn baby boy.

The couple, who are usually very private about their personal lives, took to social media on Monday, May 4, to announce the birth of their third child.

They’re already parents to daughter Raddix Wildflower Madden, 6, and son Cardinal Madden, 2. Like the other two children, their third also has a pretty unique name.

Madden shared the announcement on his Instagram page, with Diaz co-signing the reveal in the comments. The post was seemingly inspired by the Japanese manga series One Piece.

“Cameron and I are Happy, Excited, and feeling so BLESSED to announce the birth of our third Child, Nautas Madden. Welcome to the world Son!!????❤️ We love life with our family- our kids are healthy&happy, and we are grateful!!!????????having a blast ❤️Sending all our best wishes- the Madden Family ❤️????????????‍☠️”

In the comments, Diaz added, “❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️✨,” while Benji’s brother—and Good Charlotte band member—Joel added a string of heart emojis as well.

Madden’s art, meanwhile, explained that the name means “Sailor, navigator, voyager. One who embarks on a journey and fears not the unknown.”

The Couple’s Family

Diaz and Madden were introduced by Joel Madden and his wife Nicole Richie.

The two tied the knot 10 months later, on January 5, 2015, with Diaz telling InStyle in 2019 that “getting married to him was the best thing that ever happened to me.”

“My husband’s the best. He’s the greatest human being, and he’s my great partner,” she added at the time. “Marriage is certainly hard, and it’s a lot of work. You need somebody who’s willing to do the work with you, because there’s no 60-40 in marriage. It’s 50-50, period. All the time.”

The two first welcomed daughter Raddix via surrogate in December 2016, before announcing in March 2024 that they had a second child, son Cardinal.

When announcing son Cardinal’s arrival, the notoriously private couple wrote that “for the kids safety and privacy we won’t be posting any pictures.”

Though the two rarely speak about their marriage or children, Madden does often celebrate his wife and their anniversary on social media.

For their 10th wedding anniversary, Benji took to Instagram.

“This is my QUEEN ❤️ I celebrate this BAD ASS WOMAN . Wife, Mommy, friend, partner, Boss, and lover,” he wrote at the time. “We just hit 10 YEARS married on January 5th and every year only gets more fulfilling. It’s special. Never perfect- always real- always reliable. Every day getting to have my best friend with me ride or die….what a beautiful life- I am GRATEFUL!!! ????”

He also celebrated her return to acting in the same post, after she returned from a hiatus with the 2025 Netflix film, Back In Action, co-starring Jamie Foxx.

She also recently appeared in the Apple TV film Outcome with Keanu Reeves and will reprise her role as the voice of Princess Fiona for next year’s Shrek 5.
