"Congratulations": Rashford sends message to Man Utd star after 5 recoveries vs Liverpool
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has sent a message to Bruno Fernandes following the Red Devils’ 3-2 Premier League win over Liverpool on Sunday.
The Red Devils secured their Champions League berth with a splendid victory over Arne Slot’s side at Old Trafford. Kobbie Mainoo scored a late winner in the 77th minute.
However, there were several other standout performers. Bruno Fernandes was once again brilliant from the number 10 position and was unlucky not to register an assist.
The Portuguese played a big part in United’s second goal, scored by Benjamin Sesko. He had a clear-cut chance of his own but could not find the net by the slimmest of margins.
Overall, Fernandes created six chances in the North-West derby in front of the fans. He also made five recoveries alongside two clearances and a solitary interception.
Following the game, Fernandes expressed his delight to the club’s faithful on Instagram. He posted: “Big W. Fuel for more to come.”
Several United teammates responded to his post, including Marcus Rashford, who is currently on a season-long loan at Barcelona.
He replied: “Congratulations, brother.”

Fernandes had a mixed start to the campaign, operating from a deeper number eight role under former manager Ruben Amorim.
However, he has been a revelation since Amorim’s exit. His return to his preferred number 10 position has brought the best of him.
The Portuguese has been a big catalyst behind the club securing Champions League qualification after an extended two-year gap.
Fernandes is presently on 19 Premier League assists, one behind the competition record jointly held by Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry.
With three more matches left, the 31-year-old should fancy his chances of not only matching but also eclipsing the feat with a new record.
