One of Taylor Swift’s Exes Was Allegedly Seen Getting Ready for a Reported Met Gala Return
While there have been so many rumors about Taylor Swift and her ex, Harry Styles, going to the 2026 Met Gala, it seems another one of Swift’s exes is going (and it may affect her attendance)!
In case you missed it, earlier this week, DeuxMoi shared an update on celebs who are allegedly arriving to NYC for the Met Gala. They shared photos with the caption reading, “Doja Cat in NYC…celebrities are arriving to NYC for the Met Gala on Monday. Also spotted, but not pictured here, are Kendall Jenner and Joe Alwyn (separately). ????@backgrid_usa.”
That’s right, it seems Swift’s longtime ex-love Joe Alwyn may be returning to the Met Gala for the first time in 10 years. Many fans may know this but he secretly went to the 2016 Met Gala (and skipped the red carpet). He went that year, and that’s where he and Swift met.
He, nor Swift, has been back since 2016. And now, for 2026, it seems he’s coming back (and this may dash hopes for fans who want Swift to come back since she works hard not to cross paths with her exes).

For those who don’t know, Swift and Alwyn dated from Sept 2016 to March 2023, and were incredibly private about their relationship. As we said before, they reportedly met at the 2016 Met Gala and hit it off immediately (but didn’t seemingly confirm their relationship until the following year!)
They seemingly split up over personality differences.
