2002 Nintendo GameCube Game Was Far Ahead of Its Time—And It's Still Great Today
Star Fox is all the craze right now. Fox appeared in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie as one of the biggest surprise cameos in the film. Shortly after, rumors started swirling that Fox would get a new game after a decade in the far reaches of outer space away from his longtime fans.
While we're still waiting on a concrete announcement for this unnamed game, it might be time to go back into Fox's past and play one of his most underrated games.
Star Fox Adventures was controversial because it played more like a Nintendo 64-era platformer or a Legend of Zelda game than a Fox title. There are hardly any space opera battles. Fox is transported to an entirely different genre and an unfamiliar world after he's sent to a planet filled with prehistoric creatures and dinosaurs.

Instead of looking at what may have been missing from the game, fans should have appreciated that Star Fox Adventures is a cinematic and serene experience that was way ahead of its time.
Developer Rare was at the end of its time with Nintendo, but it didn't slack on effort with this game. The graphics transport gamers to lush forests and cryptic locations that immerse the player into Fox's world in a way that previous games in the series didn't, even if the people were too stubborn to see it. What's more Star Fox than exploring all of these different planets and learning about new enemy threats?

This user is perplexed that some people actually think the game isn't good. They're clearly a fan of Rare's games since their whole persona is related to Banjo-Kazooie.
People like to say that graphic don't matter, but highly detailed characters did bring this game to life. https://t.co/I6diGiCzic

This user comments on the beautiful graphics. Nintendo isn't often known for its games looking great, but the GameCube has actually aged wonderfully compared to other consoles from the era. Star Fox Adventures is one of the best examples of the system's firepower.
Here's to hoping Nintendo will release this gem on the Nintendo Switch Online service in their next update. The world needs to know about Star Fox Adventures.
