Hezbollah says it launches drone, artillery attacks on Israeli forces
Hezbollah said its fighters carried out a series of targeted attacks against Israeli forces positioned inside Lebanon, signaling continued escalation along the border.
In a statement, the group said the operations began Saturday and involved suicide drones and artillery strikes targeting multiple frontline Israeli positions.
Hezbollah said it struck two separate gatherings of Israeli troops and vehicles in the town of Bayyada, including a drone attack on forces inside a residential building.
The group added it deployed another explosive drone against what it described as an Israeli anti-tank missile position using “Gil-Spike” systems in the same area.
Attacks also extended to Qantara, where Hezbollah said Israeli troop and vehicle gathering on a hill known as Janijil were targeted with artillery fire.
Hezbollah further claimed it struck a third concentration of Israeli military equipment in Bayyada using heavy artillery, though independent verification was not immediately available.
Clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces have intensified in recent months, despite intermittent ceasefire efforts aimed at preventing a broader regional war.
The continued exchanges of fire have displaced thousands of civilians on both sides of the border, while also damaging infrastructure and limiting humanitarian access in affected region.
