Olivia Rodrigo Pokes Fun at New Album Title, Talks Working With Jake Paul & Sings About Getting Her Real ID In ‘SNL’ Monologue – Watch Now!
Olivia Rodrigo just made her debut as host on Saturday Night Live on Saturday night (May 2)!
The 23-year-old singer and actress is a first-time host and returns as musical guest as well, pulling double duty this week.
During her opening monologue, Olivia poked fun at the title of her upcoming album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, recalled working with Jake Paul on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark, and even sang about getting her Real ID, parodying her hit, debut single “drivers license.”
“I have a new album out next month,” Olivia shared. “My last two albums were called SOUR and GUTS, and this new one is called you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. So, I learned more words, guys!”
She then talked about being a child actor first, starting with an Old Navy commercial, and her first series on Disney Channel.
“When I was 13, I was on a Disney show called Bizaardvark, and we had an incredible cast, which included acting legend Jake Paul,” she said. “And we’d always talk about our futures, me and Jake. I’d say, ‘I really wanna create music that explores the complexities of girls my age,’ and he’d say, ‘Well, one day I really wanna beat up old guys on Netflix.’”
“And we both did it, hooray!” she added.
