After a very mixed 2025 both on and off track, Team Brothers now look to this season with a two bike entry for a returning Daniel Donat Lencses and continuing Margot Schmidt representing the Hungaro-Dutch outfit. We caught up with Margot to get the low down for 2026.
“Daniel is thankfully fully recovered after his health issues last year that kept him away from the tour for most of the year, and will be joining the team again for the whole season. Unfortunately, Eric Richard [FIM-E Top Fuel Bike] decided to retire at the end of last year and we will definitely miss him [as will all of us with the very quick yellow Funnybike Eric brought over from France]. So this season it’s Daniel and Me in Team Brothers!
Daniel’s bike has been completely rebuilt over the winter, with a new setup that he tested at an ACU domestic round at Santa Pod recently. A 6.67/225mph to take the Springspeed event win and class low ET give us high hopes for good results this year!
My bike stayed in our Dutch workshop over the wintertime as there weren’t any upgrades planned, and we’ve mainly refreshed the engines and given the bike a complete checkover.
Last year the bike performed very well at the end of the season and showed a lot of potential. I also used the Springspeed event as my first race of this year, with the main goal of getting comfortable with the bike again after a 7 month break, and find a good base setting for the FIM Championship. This worked out very well, although I was a bit rusty in the first few runs, but after that it went better and better and I closed the weekend with a consistent and solid 7.07/210 mph pass.
So it’s safe to say we have confidence as we head into the Main Event next month in the UK!
We still have all our loyal sponsors on board; needless to say, we’re very, very pleased with that.

With Lencses back on track and Schmidt heading towards the sixes again, Team Brothers will be chasing honours to go with Daniel’s 2022 FIM-E title and records (Lencses also still holds the only 6.5 second ticket in Europe) again this year.
