Diego Luna Joins Cast of ‘Tangled’ for New Character Role
Diego Luna is joining the cast of Disney’s live-action Tangled remake!
The 46-year-old Rogue One: The Star Wars Story and Andor star is expanding his time with the company.
He has joined the film in an original role being created specifically for the new movie, which will begin filming in Spain in June, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Diego joins a cast that includes Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim as leads Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Kathryn Hahn is playing the villainous Mother Gothel.
Tangled will be directed by Nathan Greno and Bryan Howard.
Diego is a two-time Emmy and three-time Golden Globe nominee. Outside of Star Wars, he’s also known for starting his career in telenovelas, along with movies like Y tu mamá también, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and more.
Next up, he will also star in the thriller film Eleven Days and he directed and co-wrote the upcoming Mexican-Spanish drama film A Mouthful of Ash.
Milo recently shared some insight into the Tangled casting and how he’s preparing to play Flynn and sharing how his memory of seeing it for the first time in theaters.
“I actually remember going to see it in theaters with my cousin, Noah. I was nine years old,” he said. “I just didn’t think that it would ever be a perfect storm for something this important to me, and it was. I’m still pinching myself.”
