Game 6 Liveblog: Can Canadiens close out series vs. Lightning?
The Canadiens can punch their ticket to Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs with a win over the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6 on Friday night at the Bell Centre.
Puck drops at 7 p.m. (CBC, Sportsnet, TVA Sports, TSN Radio 690, 98.5 FM).
Montreal leads the first-round, best-of-seven series 3-2.
Here are the keys to the game:
- Planning on going to the Bell Centre? Montreal police are promising a heavy presence downtown.
- Whether or not the Habs can close out the series tonight, they’ve already demonstrated they play like a team.
- Fresh off a Lady Byng Trophy nomination, Cole Caufield will look to get on the scoresheet at five-on-five for the first time this series.
- Centre Phillip Danault played the final 3:31 of the Canadiens’ 3-2 win in Game 5, and will be counted on once again to shut down the Lightning’s top guns.
- Officiating has been the story all series long. Both the Habs and Bolts will need to stay out of the box or risk losing the game on special teams.
- In his first game of the playoffs after being a healthy scratch, Brendan Gallagher was the early hero in Game 5. The Habs will want to start fast in Game 6 to get the crowd going.
