Florida Atlantic transfer Maxim Logue is expected to reopen his recruitment and no longer join North Carolina, Inside Carolina first reported.
A 6-foot-9 forward from France, Logue committed to the Tar Heels on April 21, but now is no longer expected to head to Chapel Hill.
Appearing in 28 games for the Owls this season, he averaged 4.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game on 67.4% shooting from the field.
Prior to Logue’s sophomore season, he played his freshman year for Wayne Tinkle at Oregon State, where he averaged 2.9 points pee game in 21 appearances for the Beavers.
According to 247Sports’ Andrew Jones, a North Carolina insider, the Tar Heels worked diligently to get Logue admitted to the school, but after some academic speed bumps in the process, he was forced to reopen his recruitment.
With the Tar Heels hiring NBA Champion head coach Michael Malone earlier this offseason, their list of total newcomers is down to seven.
The list includes four-star Maximo Adams, Spanish center Sayon Keita, class of 2026 combo-guard Malloy Smith, Northwestern transfer Cade Bennerman, NC State transfer Matt Able, Utah transfer Terrence Brown and Virginia Tech transfer Neoklis Avdalas.
