Kansas signs class of 2026 center Grant Mordini
By JAMES MADDEN
Kansas has added another commitment headed into the 2026-27 season, this time landing class of 2026 center Grant Mordini.
At 6-foot-11, Mordini is originally from Illinois but spent his senior season playing prep basketball at Avon Old Farms (CT).
“We’re excited about Grant coming to Kansas,” Kansas head coach Bill Self said in a release. “At 6-foot-11, he will add depth at the center position and be a guy that makes us better every day in practice. He’s been well drilled and well coached at Lake Forest and Avon and we look forward to having him be a part of our program.”
In 22 games at Avon Old Farms this season, Mordini tallied 12.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game, including seven double-doubles.
Mordini is set to join a stacked recruiting class that is ranked third by 247Sports.
With Kansas losing most of its team from a season ago, Mordini is now Kansas’ ninth newcomer that has pledged a commitment to the program.
Kansas’ list of commits includes top-recruit Tyran Stokes, five-star Tay Kinney, four-star Davion Adkins, four-star Trent Perry, four-star Luke Barnett, Utah transfer Keanu Dawes, Toledo transfer Leroy Blyden Jr. and Charleston transfer Christian Reeves.
