Supercomputer predicts how likely Tottenham are to beat Aston Villa in must-win clash

Opta’s Supercomputer has revealed the likelihood of Tottenham Hotspur making it two wins in a row in the Premier League when they travel to Villa Park on Sunday.

While Spurs secured a morale-boosting win over Wolves last weekend, they still remain two points adrift of safety.

They are in danger of falling four points behind West Ham before they travel to Aston Villa, as the Hammers will take on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.

Tottenham are considered big favourites to join Burnley and Wolves in the Championship, and they desperately need to beat Unai Emery’s side, but they go into the game as huge underdogs.

Opta’s Supercomputer has given the Lilywhites very little chance of creating an upset at Villa Park and pulling themselves out of the drop zone.

The website gives Villa a 61.5 per cent chance of taking all three points against De Zerbi’s men on Sunday. The draw is the second most likely result at 20.3 per cent.

The away side have been handed just an 18.2 per cent chance of picking up a much-needed win on Sunday.

Spurs do have reasons to be optimistic ahead of the Villa clash

Tottenham have three good reasons to be optimistic ahead of their trip to the Midlands, with the main one being that Unai Emery’s side have not been in good form.

Additionally, while Villa will be in Europa League semi-final action against Nottingham Forest on Thursday, Spurs will be much fresher, having had a full week to prepare for the game.

Besides, Emery’s men are also relatively safe when it comes to the race for Champions League qualification, sitting eight points clear of sixth-placed Brighton.
