By JAMES MADDEN
Washington State transfer Jerone Morton is headed to play for Mark Pope at Kentucky, per reports.
Morton, a 6-foot-4 guard originally from Kentucky, averaged 7.8 points and 2.6 assists per game for the Cougars this season.
With this past season being his first at Washington State, Morton spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Morehead State, another school in Kentucky.
Now headed to his third school in four seasons, next season will be Morton’s final season of eligibility.
Morton is Pope and Kentucky’s fourth addition in this year’s transfer portal and their fifth overall newcomer for next season.
The Wildcats’ additional newcomers include four-star Mason Williams, Washington transfer Zoom Diallo, Furman transfer Alex Wilkins and James Madison transfer Justin McBride.
