Insiders Reveal Prince William & Kate Middleton's School Pick-Up Antics & Their 'Involved' Role In Parents' Groups
If you’ve ever wondered what type of parents Prince William and Kate Middleton are when it comes to involvement in their kids’ school, wonder no more.
Despite their stacked Royal calendar, William and Kate are “heavily involved” in their children’s school, according to an in-depth report by The Telegraph on the couple’s marriage as they mark their 15th wedding anniversary. Per The Telegraph, parents at Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis’ Berkshire school say that Kate and William are often at school events and actively participate in WhatsApp text groups with other parents.
It turns out the Royal schedule doesn’t stop William and Kate from always being on-time for school pick-up. Kate, in particular, is often there to help out other parents at her kids’ school, with one source describing her as the “school mum you’d call to scoop your children up when you’re running late.”
After relocating from London to Windsor in 2022, the children began attending Lambroke School, an expensive prep school in the countryside that is located near their “forever home,” Forest Lodge, which they moved to from Adelaide Cottage late last year.
However, school life for the children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is about to look a little different after the end of the current school year. George, 12, will finish up in Lambroke for good before heading to a senior school. The eldest of Kate and William’s children is expected to follow in his father’s footsteps and go to Eton College, an elite boarding school that William attended during his teens.

In December, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond speculated that George might have a challenging time at Eton compared to his father’s experience. “William and his brother had witnessed the painful breakup of the marriage over many years,” Bond said, referring to King Charles and the late Princess Diana’s divorce. “So, in a way, being at boarding school became a haven for William. Things are very different for George, who has been brought up in a household full of love and harmony. So it might be tougher for him to suddenly find himself living away at boarding school – if that is, indeed, the decision his parents have made.”
However, in January, insiders told Vanity Fair that Eton might not be the only option William and Kate are looking into for their son. “While Eton would be the obvious choice because it is on their doorstep and where William went, they are leaning towards other schools. I’m hearing Marlborough is the front-runner,” a source told Vanity Fair, referring to the coed boarding school Kate attended from ages 14 to 18.
It is expected that George’s boarding school plans won’t be revealed until later this summer.
