Aldi Is Eliminating 44 Ingredients From Its Stores — Here's What That Means for Your Favorite Food Items
Shopping at Aldi is going to look a lot different by the end of 2027. The retailer just announced they are eliminating 44 ingredients from its store-brand products, which will no doubt change your shopping experience. But don’t worry — this change will be for the better, with customers’ health top of mind!
Aldi announced on April 22 that they are eliminating 44 ingredients from their private label food, vitamin, and supplement products by Dec. 2027. This will include artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, and sweeteners. More than 10 years ago, Aldi eliminated 13 ingredients from its products and became one of the first grocers to remove certified synthetic colors from its exclusive products. This new change builds on that momentum, making customers even more confident in the choices they make at Aldi.
“At the heart of our private label products is a commitment to listening to our customers and continually improving the products they bring into their homes,” Scott Patton, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi, said in the press release. Patton explained that this move was made due to customer feedback, adding, “We are proud to take meaningful steps to make it even easier for families to fill their carts with confidence by delivering simpler ingredients while continuing to provide the quality and value they expect from Aldi.”
Aldi will start rolling out its new products with updated ingredients now, displaying the changes on the packaging. The company is “working closely with supply partners” to implement the changes and make sure the updated products still have the same quality and/or taste, with the “lowest possible prices” that customers expect.
Aldi has many delicious products (and maybe a few you can skip), and we bet these changes will make their products even better — and better for you. A full list of the ingredients that will be removed can be found HERE.
