Still little but catchable
Hello Friends,
Another beautiful autumn morning for us on the last day of April. The wind was blowing lightly from the west at 4-6 kts as of 0800 and tide was dropping to the 0.53 m low at 1315. The MHL buoy was seeing a 1.2 m, 7.7 sec ENE windswell which, like yesterday, was translating into knee to waist high sets at Dee Why. Water’s clean and 22 °C.
Getting in ASAP is the plan because the Bureau tells us the wind will swing to the east by around lunch time.
The good news is that the latest swell models are showing an improvement into the chest-plus range over the weekend and into next week.
Have yourself a top old Thursday everyone!
Weather Situation
A strong high-pressure system over the Tasman Sea is slowly drifting towards New Zealand while extending a ridge over New South Wales coastal waters, maintaining northeast to southeasterly winds. Very little change is expected through the weekdays, then winds will become fresh north to northeasterly during the weekend as a cold front and its associated trough approach the state.
