A year of OneGov: Over a billion in savings and still growing

Before OneGov, fragmented technology buying led to inconsistent pricing and terms.
We saw an opportunity to use the full weight of the massive buying power of the entire federal government to secure the best possible deals. Our strategy is straightforward: negotiate directly with original equipment manufacturers, set common terms for security and performance and get the best possible pricing.
OneGov centralizes GSA's negotiations with companies, eliminating duplicative contracts and securing the best possible pricing for our federal agency partners.
The benefits of OneGov extend far beyond the impressive dollars saved. By reducing duplication and complexity, we are freeing up agency acquisition teams to focus on more meaningful mission-focused buying, rather than dealing with repetitive procurement processes.
GSA secured software discounts up to 90% from leading providers like Microsoft, Adobe, Google, ServiceNow and many more. The initiative also significantly accelerated AI adoption across government - with some agencies paying less than $1 per agency.
Furthermore, by insisting on consistent security standards, every agreement includes standardized contract terms around support, patching and access controls, protecting our vital IT infrastructure. This ensures IT leaders have stronger accountability from vendors.
Crucially, OneGov is not just about saving money—it is about ensuring that America remains the global leader in the AI race. The initiative has played a major role in accelerating the use of AI across the federal government by providing agencies with immediate access to cutting-edge AI models. The streamlined acquisition process via OneGov is helping accelerate the adoption of data-driven strategies across the entire federal landscape, in alignment with the White House AI Action Plan.
Looking ahead, GSA plans to build on the momentum of the OneGov initiative, by extending agreements, expanding access to services, deepening collaboration and laying the groundwork for more scalable AI infrastructure across the government.
