Olivia Valdes said the United States “does not negotiate through the media,” adding that Washington’s red lines remain clearly defined.

Hopes for renewed diplomatic momentum declined after Trump canceled a planned visit by his envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Islamabad.

Meanwhile, Abbas Araghchi has recently traveled to Pakistan, Oman, and Russia as part of diplomatic efforts surrounding the proposal.

Reports suggest Iran has presented a three-phase plan to the United States, though details remain limited and key disagreements persist.

The White House has confirmed that Trump’s national security team is reviewing Iran’s proposal, particularly its implications for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global oil shipments.

Officials have indicated that while the proposal is under consideration, Washington remains cautious and is prioritizing security guarantees and freedom of navigation in the region.

Tensions between Iran and the United States have raised concerns about potential disruptions to global energy markets, as the Strait of Hormuz handles a significant share of the world’s oil trade.
