Carrick to make two big changes | Predicted Man Utd lineup vs Brentford as £37m star returns

Manchester United entertain Brentford in today’s Premier League game at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have picked up 58 points from 33 matches. They can put themselves on the cusp of Champions League qualification by beating the Bees.

Ahead of the encounter, interim manager Michael Carrick could make a couple of big changes from the 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this month.

Predicted Line-up:

Senne Lammens has been an undisputed starter in goal for the Red Devils since making his debut in October. The Belgian will be eyeing his seventh clean sheet of the campaign.

In front of him, Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw should be nailed-on starters from the right and left-back positions, but there will be a guaranteed change in the heart of the defence.

Harry Maguire is back after a two-game domestic suspension for his sending off at Bournemouth, and he should be reinstated alongside Ayden Heaven in central defence. Noussair Mazraoui will make way.

Lisandro Martinez is serving the second game of his three-match suspension. Leny Yoro has just returned to training after injury, while Matthijs de Ligt remains a long-term absentee.

No changes are expected in the centre of the park. Casemiro has been a revelation since confirming his exit, and the Brazilian will be eyeing another goal contribution against the Bees.

The 34-year-old will line up alongside Kobbie Mainoo in the heart of the midfield tonight. Mainoo has had a fine turnaround under Carrick and looks poised to pen a new long-term deal.

Further forward, there could be an enforced change with Matheus Cunha nursing a minor injury. The versatile ace was absent during a midweek training session for the same reason.

In that case, Bryan Mbeumo could move to the left wing tonight with Amad Diallo slotting on the opposite flank. Amad, signed for £37 million, has not had a single goal involvement this year and has the opportunity to end the barren spell against Brentford.

Bruno Fernandes, who has already notched up 18 league assists this term, will occupy the number 10 position with Benjamin Sesko leading the line once more for the Mancunian giants.
