Ayia Napa Marina hosts informal meeting of EU heads of state, government
Ayia Napa Marina successfully hosted the informal meeting of the heads of state and government of the European Union on April 23, 2026. The meeting, part of the programme of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, was held under the leadership of President Nikos Christodoulides, and attended by heads of state and government, senior EU officials and accompanying delegations.
On the agenda were strategic discussions on international developments, regional stability and energy-related challenges, reaffirming the European Union’s commitment to coordinated action in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
Throughout the Meeting’s course, Ayia Napa Marina operated under strict security protocols, in coordination with the Police, National Guard, Coast Guard and other competent authorities. Measures across land, sea and air, including controlled access, surveillance systems and coordinated traffic arrangements, were rigorously implemented, leading to the event’s seamless and safe execution.
Furthermore, the Marina’s infrastructure, operational readiness and high standards of service played a key role in delivering a smooth experience, thus strengthening Cyprus’s position as a more than competent host country for major political and business summits. Meanwhile, Ayia Napa Marina’s capability to accommodate complex, high-level international events was once again highlighted.
Ayia Napa Marina extends its appreciation to all national authorities, security services and partners whose collaboration contributed to the success of this important European event.
