Her first Mother's Day is one she'll remember forever, and she deserves a gift that marks the occasion. I had my second child two months ago, so although I feel like a pro this time around, I'm still surviving on minimal sleep and changing routines. So, I really thought about what Mother's Day gifts would brighten a new mom's day and even have a practical component to help with this (exhausting) time in her life.
Call me crazy, but I believe a Mother's Day gift for a new mom should be… for the new mom. Unless you know she specifically wants a gadget for her baby, I suggest sticking with a surprise just for her. If you were to ask a new mom what she wants for Mother's Day, she'd probably say "more sleep." Since you can't buy that, I leaned into gifts that'll make her days easier, cuter, or sweeter.
