Widden Announce 2026 Fees for NSW and Victoria

Widden Stud are delighted to announce our service fees on a diverse roster of 19 stallions split between NSW and Victoria, headlined by reigning champion Australian sire Zoustar, who continues to dominate on the track and in the sales ring.

The world’s leading sire of winners in 2025, Zoustar has carried that momentum into 2026, with eight Australian stakes winners this season, led by five-time Group I winner and $9million earner Joliestar.

The reigning older sprint queen of Australia is set to take on some of the world’s best sprinters at Royal Ascot in June where she will run in the G1 Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Stakes (6f).

“Zoustar is at the height of his powers and maintains excellent fertility with his recent books of mares surpassing the quality of all that have gone before,” said Antony Thompson.

“Last year we welcomed mares from many of the very best stud farms in the country to be covered by Zoustar and they included Everest and four-time G1 winner Bella Nipotina in her first season at stud, Medaglia Valore, the dam of Campione D’Italia and Autumn Glow’s dam, Via Africa.”

Zoustar’s dominance has been emphatically reflected in the sales ring, where his progeny continue to be among the most sought-after yearlings in Australasia.

“This year he produced six yearlings selling for $1million or more and averaged more than $544,000 from 57 yearlings, underlining the extraordinary commercial appeal.”

Zoustar stands at a fee of $275,000 (inc. GST).

The first yearlings by our young dual G1 winning sire Jacquinot were well received this year, with 16 selling at Magic Millions Book 1 for an average of $218,125 and a top price of $425,000 for a colt from Bonheur.

“Champion trainer Ciaron Maher purchased three of his top five-priced yearlings which speaks volumes for their quality, and we can’t wait to see them on the track next season,” said Thompson.

“The feedback from breakers and trainers has been incredibly positive, and reports continue to flow in. His value this year is exactly what the market is looking for, and he represents a great option for breeders.”

Jacquinot stands at a fee of $19,800 (inc. GST).

Offering a wide variety of proven stallions to budget conscious breeders is also a high priority at Widden and our affordably priced sires have rewarded their supporters.

Trapeze Artist has sired eight Australian stakes-winners this season headed by top class filly Panova, winner of the Group I SAJC Australasian Oaks last Saturday, as well as 2YO stakes-winners Spicy Miss, Chilly Girl and Where’s the Circus, plus older stayer Piggyback, quality mare Pinito, classy 3YO The Crimson Pirate and Group winning sprinter Disneck.

“Trapeze Artist’s success has been building for some time, and his fee reflects the value he offers this season. Breeders will be incredibly well-placed sending mares to him.”

Trapeze Artist stands at a fee of $27,500 (inc. GST).

The very image of his sire Zoustar, Zousain has proven a highly reliable source of winners with two new stakes-winners this season in Catch the Glory and Verzain.

He is also proving popular in Hong Kong where he has sired four individual winners this season, highlighted by Salon S. The Frankie Lor trained three-year-old gelding is undefeated with four wins at Sha Tin from four starts.

Zousain remains in high demand, and his sale results continue to provide incredible results for breeders, his yearlings having sold for $375,000, $300,000, $260,000, $250,000 and $220,000, alongside a further 15 yearlings achieving $100,000 or more.

Zousain stands at a fee of $22,000 (inc. GST).

Supido’s momentum is building, with his biggest ever crop of 2YOs now racing. From just six runners, he has already produced outstanding juvenile and winner of the 2026 Magic Millions 2YO Classic Unit Five, suggesting there is a wealth of untapped talent in the pipeline.

With his second-largest crop of yearlings and the first bred at a higher fee, Supido is locked and loaded for an upswing.

Supido stands at a fee of $9,900 (inc. GST).

With his oldest progeny now three-year-olds, Anders has posted two stakes-winners this season including promising young stayer Single Choice. A winner of four from 10 starts, including the Group II MRC Autumn Classic, Single Choice has the Group I SAJC South Australian Derby in his sights.

Anders stands at a fee of $9,900 (inc. GST).

Written By, Portland Sky, Rebel Dane and Sweet Ride complete the NSW roster, offering breeders a mix of proven performance and emerging sires, catering for broader breeding requirements and providing variety and value.

Written By continues to excel both in the sales ring and on the track, with strong ongoing support from breeders again last season.a

Portland Sky’s first-crop runners include the impressive winners Daryte and Portland Rose, with the latter set to contest the $250,000 Inglis 2YO race next Friday.

Rebel Dane is coming off his largest crop of two-year-olds to date and has already produced the promising stakes winner Rebel Tuesday.

“We have a strong group of value stallion options who continue to perform. They offer breeders flexibility across pedigree and commercial appeal, while still producing quality yearlings and giving breeders the opportunity to race their own stock.”

Written By stands at a fee of $22,000 (inc. GST).

Portland Sky stands at a fee of $8,800 (inc. GST).

Rebel Dane stands at a fee of $6,600 (inc. GST).

Southport Tycoon enters his second season at Widden Victoria and is expected to be strongly supported by breeders following an impressive debut at stud. The dual Group 1-winning son of Champion sire Written Tycoon covered 127 mares in his first season.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the level of support he received, particularly the quality of mares in his first book. The excitement around his first crop of foals is building, and he is an exceptionally well-credentialed stallion. We look forward to him attracting another strong book this season.”

Southport Tycoon stands at a fee of $33,000 (inc. GST).

Russian Camelot, Doubtland and Dirty Work continue to deliver strong results on the track with their three-year-old crops.

“It is exciting to see the promising results from their first two crops to race. Breeders have supported them well, and they are continuing to return value both in the sales ring and on the track.”

Russian Camelot’s impressive debut stakes performer Beyond Question was reportedly sold to Hong Kong for $1million, a strong indication of the continued progression of his progeny. More recently, progressive three-year-old city winner Strangethingdesired for the Hawkes team looks to have a bright future.

Dirty Work’s two-year-olds have again performed strongly, highlighted by stakes winner Never Ordinary taking out the Dequetteville Stakes.

Doubtland continues to find favour in the sales ring, selling his top colt for $320,000 to X Bloodstock at the Melbourne Premier Sale. With 16 individual winners this season, he continues to offer strong value for breeders.

Russian Camelot, Doubtland and Dirty Work all stand for $11,000 (inc. GST).

King Colorado enters his third season at stud, with a strong line-up of foals from his first crop and early indications suggesting the Group 1-winning two-year-old is well on track.

The only Group 1-winning juvenile trained by Ciaron Maher, this son of Kingman boasts a deep and highly commercial pedigree.

“The support we have received for King Colorado, both from shareholders and breeders, has given him an exceptional start. The quality of his first crop is expected to drive an increase in mare numbers again this season, particularly at such strong value.”

Kingman continues to be a world-class sire, and his sons are making an impact despite relatively limited opportunities.

King Colorado stands for $13,200 (inc. GST).

Nicconi, Bruckner and Gold Standard complete the Widden Victoria roster.

Nicconi has nice again been a cornerstone of the operation since its launch, with his 2026 sales results highlighting his continued commercial strength. He has produced standout results including a $500,000 filly at Magic Millions and a $300,000 colt at the Premier Sale.

“Nicconi is a marvel. While his book is now carefully managed, he remains incredibly fertile and continues to deliver exceptional results for his supporters. He will cover a book of 50 mares this year, and for breeders seeking proven commercial success, it is hard to pass by a sire at this fee averaging over $100,000 at the yearling sales this season.”

Nicconi stands for $13,200 (inc. GST).

Gold Standard is represented by his largest crop of two-year-olds, off the back of his Group 1-winning daughter Sheeza Belter and the emergence of $1million Showdown winner Big Wigs, providing further excitement for his progeny moving forward.

Bruckner’s first crop of yearlings has been well received, with the son of Snitzel, who ran a gallant second in the Group 1 Coolmore behind Golden Slipper sire Home Affairs, showing early promise in the sales ring.

“We all knew what a good-looking yearling Bruckner was, having been a top lot at the Premier Sale. To see Nick Ryan pay $120,000 for a colt out of Anuddawinna is very encouraging. In a tough market, the value on offer is clear, and the quality around his race record is undeniable.”

Gold Standard and Bruckner stand for $5,500 (inc. GST).

“Our focus this year is firmly on the breeder, ensuring they have access to the best value options within the Widden roster. The team is happy to assist with mating plans, whether for sale or breed-to-race objectives, and we encourage breeders to reach out,” said Thompson.
