Hulk Hogan Was Despondent Over Divorce, Netflix Series Reveals
Before his surprise death in July 2025, Hulk Hogan led a colorful and controversial life, punctuated by family drama, a beer brand, a Gawker lawsuit, and more.
Never one to hold back, Hogan sat down for a final, candid interview just months before his death. It's airing on Netflix and is called Hulk Hogan: Real American. The documentary series spans four parts. However, what were the most shocking revelations in Hogan's final interview?
Hulk Hogan Admitted Using a Lot of Fentanyl
According to Rolling Stone, one of the most shocking admissions in the documentary was Hogan's confession that he ingested a lot of fentanyl after his 2009 divorce from his wife, Linda.
“I was taking 80-milligram fentanyls, two in the morning, stuffing them under my gums here,” Hogan said. “I had two 300 mg patches of fentanyl on my legs, and they gave me six 1,500 mg fentanyl lollipops to eat. I went to the pharmacy, he goes, ‘You should be dead. We have never seen a human being take this much fentanyl.'”
According to Rolling Stone, Hogan felt he needed to keep performing because his divorce left him "broke."
Hogan died at age 71 of a heart attack, according to People.
