The Best Pizza in the Country Belongs to Pizza Hut, According to National Survey
Americans love their pizza, and in that spirit, one pizza spot has been named the best in the country to order a slice of that pie.
If you need proof about how much pizza Americans eat, just look at the numbers. According to research from the USDA, on any given day, pizza is consumed by 11 percent of the population overall. Children and adolescents ate pizza more frequently than adults, and the percentage eating it decreased to about 6% among adults over 60 years of age. Plus, slightly more men than women consume pizza, but it's pretty close.
So, what's the best place to get pizza in the country? It's subjective, of course, but a new study has an answer.
The Chain With the Best Pizza in the Nation, According to Experts
According to YouGov's 2026 U.S. restaurant rankings, Pizza Hut has the best pizza in America, with 19.1 percent of voters casting their vote for the chain, followed by Domino's at 17.1 percent.
According to Pizza Hut's official website, their story dates back to 1958, when "two brothers borrowed $600 from their mom to open a pizza place in Wichita, Kansas. They named it Pizza Hut, because their sign only had room for eight letters."
"From day one, the Carney brothers could look their customers in the eye and promise them the finest pizza in town — because they knew the farmers who grew the ingredients, and they knew those farmers cared about quality," Pizza Hut adds.
They continue, "Since then, our farmers have grown right alongside us, and the ingredients we use are still our highest priority. No one loves pizza more than Pizza Hut. That’s why pizza is in our name — and always will be.
More of America's Favorite Food, According to a Survey
In that same study, Five Guys was named the No. 1 spot for the best quality fast-food burgers in America, with 15.5 percent of survey respondents naming them the top. Coming in just behind them on the survey was Burger King with 15 percent, In-N-Out with 12.1 percent, Wendy's with 10.2 percent and McDonald's at 8.7 percent.
Also, according to their research, two in three Americans purchase food or drinks from fast food restaurants at least once a month, coming it at 70 percent. Plus, 30 percent of respondents said they eat fast-food once a week.
"This demand is driven by a younger, economically active audience," the study states. "Over half (51 percent) of weekly fast food diners are under 45, and 49 percent fall into middle-income households."
